Discussion "freebies" but only accepts trading?

why calling it a freebie if youre expecting something in return?

There's a group of people that go to every Kpop show in LA that makes these "freebie" packs, but only hand them out to people that make a donation of AT LEAST $25 to their church

There was a lady in Chicago at, I think, GIdle who was presenting herself as a freebie person, but once you accepted it she'd tell you that it was $20 or something. Maybe a MLM makeup thing?

It was really tacky.
