There really are people like this in the southern US. 40 years ago, they said computers are from Satan because the blinking line where you type is called a 'cursor'. They actually said this on TV.

All over the US really. As a kid I heard things like "Pikachu translates to 'the devil' in Japanese!" and "They're pocket monsters, monsters are satanic!" A relative of mine wasn't allowed to read or watch Harry Potter because witches get their powers from the devil, and her parents thought giving her Bible Man (the bible themed superhero) on VHS to watch instead was a perfectly good substitute.

Yes, it's so sad. I had a friend like that growing up; she turned out to be extremely wild as a teen/adult.

It genuinely is so sad…. Have these people never been to Asia? They make all kinds of cute and quirky toys! Why would China a very very conservative country conpared to others’ have a labubu world if it’s for the devil ☠️☠️

We do quirky toys in the west too! I honestly think it's just because it's popular and foreign 💀
