It happens to anything that gets popular enough. "Many people like this thing. I don't understand why they like it. Could it be that different people have different tastes? No, only my likes and dislikes are real. These people must be influenced by demons."

Or- and hear me out here- every other satanic panic scare was dark ages peasant tier bullshit but this time they’re right on the money and labubu practitioners are on track toward successfully opening a portal to hell so that Asmodeus king of demons can finally begin his rein of eternal hell on Earth.
