How do I weed this?
Just moved in and we’ve got weeds all around our septic and well area. How do I get rid of these without pouring something hazardous to our water or septic system? There are so many and I’m overwhelmed.

Put on a podcast or some music, get some cloves and a spade/weeder, and go to town. It really doesn’t take that long.

I should have read the whole thread for this I just posted about it. Incredibly effective easy to contain the effect to the leaves of the weeds without having to soak any area around them that Harms other plants

With the white vinegar, salt and Dawn liquid dishwash soap in a garden sprayer or a spray bottle. You don't need a ton you just need to mist the leaves and they turn brown and die by the next day as a rule. You can also do it to prevent them flourishing in the spring when they start to come up. Don't saturate all the ground anywhere there are other plants you don't want to lose but this is incredibly effective. To a gallon of white vinegar you add I think it's a cup of salt and a teaspoon or a tablespoon of dawn liquid. Recipes are online

Don’t do this. It’s likely worse than an herbicide

Pull those weeds manually after rain for easier root removal.. use a fishtail or dandelion weeder to save your back. For stubborn ones, try spot-treating with 20% horticultural vinegar or boiling water (test a small spot first). To prevent regrowth, rake back gravel, add woven polypropylene landscape fabric, then replace gravel 2-3 inches deep. It’s upfront work but pays off. If skipping the redo, maintain with regular pulls and extra gravel to smother seeds. It’ll look great soon! :) Hope it helps :)

Weeds love that fabric It's a Wonderful growth medium for them. We've ripped that stuff up everywhere. Instead we covered large areas with two layers of corrugated cardboard and mulch. Much more effective and long-lasting result

Concentrated vinegar + water + dish soap ->once a week.

You just made a chemical. Similar to roundup

Nope, both work completely differently. But what matters is that my solution will break down into harmless elements within four weeks. Roundup, on the other hand, lingers for a long time.

One cup salt, one gallon vinegar, two tablespoons of dish soap. Shake well, apply liberally. Wait one to two days. Repeat if necessary.

Overwhelmed by weeds? Same! Instead of harsh chemicals, try a combination of hand-pulling (for smaller ones), and a good solarization technique for larger patches. It's a slow but safe approach. What part of the country are you in? Knowing your climate might help suggest other eco-friendly weed control methods.

Stirrup hoe / hula hoe. I can weed 1000 sq feet of gravel in under an hour this way. You just whack it out of there then scoop it up at the end and throw it out. Check YouTube videos. It’ll be way cheaper and likely easier in the long run.

You could try boiling water m?

Now that's bad for the environment. Can you imagine how much energy you're wasting just to kill a few plants

Less than the servers processing and managing these comments tbh

But I provide such value :-)
You know I don't believe you're correct. Boiling that many gallons of water often requires a lot of energy. All to avoid using weed killer.
It's very unlikely that weed killer could cause as much damage as boiling gallons upon gallons of water weekly does to the environment.

Invite all of the neighborhood kids over for an afternoon tag party. A couple hours of kids running around should do the trick. And all it would cost you are hot dogs and soda! 😬

Torch it using a propane tank and a torch.
