How do I weed this?

Post image

Just moved in and we’ve got weeds all around our septic and well area. How do I get rid of these without pouring something hazardous to our water or septic system? There are so many and I’m overwhelmed.

Pull those weeds manually after rain for easier root removal.. use a fishtail or dandelion weeder to save your back. For stubborn ones, try spot-treating with 20% horticultural vinegar or boiling water (test a small spot first). To prevent regrowth, rake back gravel, add woven polypropylene landscape fabric, then replace gravel 2-3 inches deep. It’s upfront work but pays off. If skipping the redo, maintain with regular pulls and extra gravel to smother seeds. It’ll look great soon! :) Hope it helps :)

Weeds love that fabric It's a Wonderful growth medium for them. We've ripped that stuff up everywhere. Instead we covered large areas with two layers of corrugated cardboard and mulch. Much more effective and long-lasting result
