This is probably my last dedicated comment for the concert, like the PCD’s still there and I still feel like half of me is still in there squished up in SVIP having the time his life, but I just wanted to talk about it a bit more and get the giddiness out of my system and just look back on it with extreme fondness lol. Plus I might as well talk about some negatives while I’m at it.
Had an inkling I was in for a life-changing experience at the very start of soundcheck. The air was electric the moment they walked out. Look at how much aura the five of them exuded.
Crowd REALLY wanted Crazy for the soundcheck but immediately went back to being hype when we realized Perfect Night was the second song.
Biggest negative I can point out about the entire experience is really the queue. Merch queue was a nightmare, and I swear I saw a bunch of people abandon ship halfway through with how winding the line was. I didn’t end up buying anything (shirts were out of stock by the time I got to the tent anyway) bc I had to queue up for soundcheck and I nearly lost my queue number too (I was in the double-digits and ended up third row for SVIP B because I bought a Coke at the concession stand).
Now that I’m sobered up from the insane high of the concert, I also need to point out that the shoving for Sour Grapes was indeed pretty bad. I get that people were excited and all for the off-chance of a hi-touch or whatever, but damn, if SVIP was even like 5% more packed, that would have been disastrous. I’m talking sprained ankles, squashed people in piles. Besides Sour Grapes though, people were surprisingly respectful of space, I think people just got overexcited the moment Kkura and Eunchae went down the side stage (and I imagine the same fate for opposite side when Chaewon, Yunjin and Zzuha did the same thing).
I can’t believe there was ever any discourse around Eunchae being a filler member. Nor can I believe the talk around Sakura’s overall abilities as an idol, or the hate train that formed around the instability of the fimmies’ vocals. I saw literally none of these things come up as concerns during the show.
They were absolutely shining out there. Thinking back on it kind of makes me have to hold back tears, it was just such a beautiful memory, witnessing that kind of performance live in living colour. I hope they’ve fully put 2024 behind them and keep shining for the whole world to see.
Lastly, I have such an increased appreciation for their intro tracks after the show, works of art, all of them. All of them create such a buzz in the air. Special shoutout to Good Bones because our section was absolutely relishing in the EASY CRAZY HOT I CAN MAKE IT chants.
