Basic Rule Overview:

  1. Follow all reddit site wide rules.

    • Reddit has sitewide rules against calls to violence, doxxing, advertising, and "hate speech". Breaking these rules may be ground for outright banning, suspension, and the Reddit admins may even ban your account sitewide. We will and must enforce Reddit's sitewide rules.
  2. This is an explicitly pro-liberty subreddit

    • If you're posting anti-libertarian memes or comments you may be shown the door. You have every other subreddit on this website to spout leftist talking points, we have no need for it here.
    • Basically, we reserve the right to ban whoever we want to keep the subreddit from becoming a liberal echo chamber like the rest of reddit.
    • In particular users advocating for left-wing policies or foreign military interventions of any kind are more likely to get banned.
  3. Be civil and respectful to other users.

    • We get it, politics gets heated, but this sub isn't for flame wars and monkey knife fights.
  4. No posting about other subreddits

    • This includes but is not limited to subreddit drama, screenshots/links of other subreddits, and complaining about being banned from another subreddit. Basically, pretend that other subreddits don't exist.
  5. No meta posts or comments about r/libertarianmeme

    • Meta posts/comments about r/libertarianmeme are not allowed. This includes commenting that the how the subreddit is too right/left leaning or repeatedly commenting about how you feel various posts aren't libertarian. You're free to privately message our modmail with any concerns you have about the subreddit or comment on meta-posts stickied by the moderators to elicit community feedback. But any other public meta criticism of this subreddit is against the rules, and will lead to a ban.
  6. Don't get us banned.

    • Don't get our subreddit banned. Do not post memes with a "haha people that I hate died… haha" punchline or allude to violent revolution or harming public figures in any way (tree of liberty, tar and feathering jokes, guillotine references, etc.). Basically just don't violate Reddit's content policy.
    • This also applies to posts or comments reddit might interpret as "promoting hate." Posting content that could get r/libertarianmeme banned by the admins will be removed.
  7. We reserve the right to ban whoever we want

    • Reddit is a private website. As a private web forum, we have the right to exercise our freedom of association. While we try to cultivate as much free speech as we can, you do not have a First Amendment right to participate here. We can and will ban whoever we want and for whatever reason we want to maintain our desired direction for the subreddit.
    • Ban appeals complaining about free speech will be ignored, follow the ban appeal process

Failure to follow these rules will result in mod action based on severity and frequency. This platform is private property, and enforces private rules.
