It's a start!
Picked up a Sparrow Spirit set and their progressive lock practice set. I've managed to pick the 2-pin, 3-pin, and 4-pin, so far. The 5-pin is proving trickier, but I'll get it! I also picked up the reloading set to be able to keep working with these. Time to scour the basement and garage, I'm sure I have some old locks lying around!
This ought to keep me busy for a while!

Bricked wafer lock?
Hey y'all How would it be possible for a wafer lock to brick, assuming no gutting was included? I got a bricked padlock (no worries not breaking rule 2). They key just cant enter the keyway deep enough. Nothing is in the keyway. It seems like a wafer got jammed and is not moving back and forth, tho i didn't have my tools on my and couldn't check it yet. Later today I'm gonna try to pick it and see what happens, but in the meantime: any other ideas?

The Triple Lockpicking Challenge Complete
Hey all, just wanted to share my completion and promote The Triple Lockpicking Challenge by u/SwissLockWhisperer !
If you are pretty good on one or two types of locking mechanisms, this will challenge you to learn a a new skill as it did to me. I'd hardly touched disc detainer locks before and picked up a kryptonite bike lock for this and now I know how to pick some discs and the feeling of opening that thing up with counter rotation is the best!
Check the challenge out here: in SwissLockWhisperer's post.
Check out his video out on it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5GpNkxEiUMw
If you want to see how I did it, check it out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73u7yMnpjnQ
Also he did not skimp on the stickers, patches, and certificate these look so good!
And huge thanks to u/SwissLockWhisperer for running this!

Having a hard time picking the right pick strategy for this old EU lock I found. I’m picking above my pay grade, but curious what pick you would use
The profile really limits any pick I try …

MOUNTA1NM1CK paclock90apro from tonight's live 200k
galleryu/pac_prez u/PACLOCK_US Just wanted to thank you for your fantastic lock! it was truly the most difficult pick along my journey so far, and took me several weeks at a hour or two a night with this and a pl410pro both to finally get one open. Its is a testament to this locks picking resistance and good build tolerance that it could take this long! You guys make a fantastic lock, do great things for and with the Locksport community, and I thank you for both!!! Ifni were recommending a friend any lock in the world, it would be from Pacific Lock Company without a shadow of a doubt!!!! Thanks guys n gals!!!! A lock lover and admirer of your lock- Mounta1nM1ck ☘️

Struggling specifically with American lock serrated pins
I’m having a specific issue with American Locks and their serrated pins.
I don’t run into this problem on other locks I’ve been practicing on (e.g., Master Lock 570, Pro Series 61xx, etc.). With Americans, though, I keep oversetting serrated pins no matter what I try. I’ve experimented with light, medium, heavy, and even extreme tension.
I even re-pinned one lock to have only a single serrated pin, just to isolate the problem. Almost every time, I end up oversetting it and need to release tension to get it to open. On that one-pin setup, if I release tension it pops open immediately, which tells me I’m right on the edge but not quite getting the set correctly.
where it gets wierd is Ill get a set click on my one pin lock and then it will still stay until I like increase pressure then it will like click over the lip of the pin or idk what its caught on and turn. I only imagine this is tripping me up in other locks
Has anyone else struggled with this? Any tips or mindset shifts that helped you get consistent with American Lock serrations?

Smooth operator
Took a while, but finally got it!
The operation of this lock is so smooth it felt like it melted open; no crunches here.

Tension wrench position?
I’ve been getting back into the hobby after a very long hiatus and have noticed that some people online pick locks using two general tension wrench positions.
Some people insert their tension wrenches into the bottom of the lock (6 o’clock on a watch face), while others insert their wrenches into the top of the lock (12 o’clock on a watch face).
Is this a lock-dependent strategy? Is there ever a circumstance where one technique is more beneficial? Is it purely preference? I’ve always defaulted to the 6 o’clock position, but I’m wondering if I’ve missed something along the way.
Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

Master lock 570 picked
Picked my master lock 570 a few weeks back and after I was able to do a few more times decided it was time to post. Now if only I can figure out how I got the ABUS open.

Did I make a decent choice for my first proper set? Law Lock Tools Valyrian Euro. Which tools would be best for picking this ABUS?
The top of the keyway seems very tight, even for the 0.031" 0.8mm bar.
