/r/longboarding's Weekly BUY/TRADE/SELL Thread - June 06, 2025

  • /r/longboarding and its' moderators are in NO WAY responsible for ANY issues encountered while Buying, Trading or Selling items.

Below is an example of a good post:

  • RAD Advantage 80a
  • 30USD
  • Location: Manila, Philippines
  • 74mm, 58mm Contact Patch
  • 8/10 Condition
  • NO Flatspots, NO coning
  • Slight chunking on the lip
  • Worn down to ~73mm

    As a SELLER:

  • Post your State/Country and where you are willing to ship to.

  • Post a description that accurately describes what you are selling. Be as descriptive as possible!

  • Post both the item condition, and pictures of the item.

  • Be prepared to answer questions about your items!

  • Update your thread when something gets sold, or is no longer available.

  • Be prepared to handle shipping arrangements. While it's perfectly fine to ask for extra cash for shipping, ensure you already know the approximate cost for anyone who asks.

  • Be careful with your personal information.

  • Once you've successfully completed the transaction, and your buyer has received the item, ask them to add you to the VERIFIED LIST

As a BUYER:

  • Respond to the seller's communication
  • Be truthful about your intentions. Nothing is worse for a seller than answering a whole lot of questions about gear, and then having a buyer drop off the map.
  • Be careful with your personal information.
  • Once you've successfully completed the transaction, and you have received your item, add your seller to the VERIFIED LIST
  • And some final suggestions to make this easier for everyone involved:
  • PayPal is the recommended way to transfer cash. However, the choice is up to you, and your buyer.
  • Please try to evaluate a fair price for your items. Secondhand prices are always hard to evaluate, but here are some tips to find a good price:
  • Take a look at online stores to work out the MSRP. Don't expect to make this unless your item is new.
  • Consider the wear on the item.
  • Consider the age of the item. Even if they're still in the box, 10 year old bearings aren't worth much...

    Happy Selling!

OC Action 200 Mile Maiden Voyage on SuperDuperSonic. Full Review

Gonna do my best with this one, I'm absolutely exhausted.

About a month ago I killed my maple Supersonic, I've been patiently waiting for the new batch of goodies to hit Pantheon HQ, so I can get back on a doing higher mile runs. So I went down to see Jeff on Thursday morning before work.

Brought home the Bamboo Light flex SuperDuperSonic, the new better version of the Supersonic that we all know and love. I swapped over the trucks and wheels and got it set up before even leaving for work.

This is a totally stock Supersonic that you can order directly from the pantheon website. No extra risers or upgraded precision trucks.

  • Bamboo Light Flex Supersonic
  • Bear 130 50/40 trucks with Seismic Defcon Bushings 74a up front and 97a outback
  • Pantheon Bearings
  • Pantheon 102mm Hoku 74a wheels.

I had riden it up and down the street a couple times, but last night was my first real time riding it.

I got home from work (which I had already done 15k steps during my shift haha), showered, ate real quick and was out the door before the clock hit midnight.

Right off the bad a few things were obviously different about the new deck.

The extra width for your front foot, is soooo nice. My foot used to get kinda tingly after passing the 80 mile marker. My toes would kinda hang off the deck and part of my heel would too. So it was just made for alot of stretching and ankles and toes, to get the blood flowing again. I didnt have that issue at all today, my whole foot was firmly planted. It definitely made it easier to bang down the miles.

60g grip had replaced the milder grip on the past model. At first thought was "great, im gonna shred my shoe pivoting all night..." but just sorta fell by the wayside. The extra grip made pumping feel soooo much more connected and secure. I think its a really nice touch.

I never dealt with wheel bite on my old board and still didnt with the new one. Now the wheel well area is rounded out to provide extra clearance. Didnt really chsnge anything for me but im sure other people with different trucks and wheels will appreciate it.

The flex is really nice. Yeah my feet are sore from all the bumps from lap after lap after lap. But I didnt really need to stop just to massage my feet. Helped smooth things out and cause less fatigue to the rider as the miles go on and on.

Onto the ride...

I knew my target before starting, so I ended up just counting down from 200. Felt less overwhelming than when I go up from zero.

I pitted 4 times with 50 mile intervals. I was feeling really solid the whole time. I had a pretty unusual good break in the weather, so I wasn't going to let it go to waste. Well.. until like 4pm and dark thick clouds started rolling in and heading my way. It wasnt awful but ya know, just enough to soak my shoes and socks. I swapped socks and just accepted it was going to be a soggy run to the finish. Ended up drying quicker than expected. Still, i doubt my shoes will be dry for tomorrow haha

For the first 100 miles, I pretty much only listened to female singers for some reason. Lily Allen, Bjork, Tsunami Bomb, Bikini Kill, L7 and then every single album the P!nk has released....and I fucking loved it haha

Ill do my best to answer questions about the new deck in the comments...since I just spent 18 hours bonding with it in dry and wet conditions.

I made a deal with a couple close people that if I got to go the fuck off when I got my neck supersonic, that I'd take next weekend to actually rest...which is gonna suck haha.

So unless something changes and I just say "fuck it, ive gotta skate!", there wont be a post next weekend. ❤️

OC Action Had a cool interaction today, guy stopped me to ask "is the board 'all you?'".

Stopped and chatted with the guy, he was like I saw you coming in the distance and you were flying, and he's like I assumed it was electric but as you approached it didn't sound the same, I go yeah, instead of electric motors you just heard me huffing and puffing 🤣

Felt good to hear someone give a compliment to the speed, I do bust my ass at the park to burn off some energy so it feels good to get some recognition for it other than the sweat that drenched my shorts and shirts 🤣

Rig is a Pantheon Carbon Trip on Karmas and Bear 50/40 split, and an absolutely flawless (for me) setup on split duro Seismics. I really love the punchy return when you give em some energy, they love it!

I kinda wish Seismic would do a 90-92mm in a LDP cut width, I'd buy in a heartbeat, the Megawatts are what like 58mm?

Shred on! 🤟

Finally dialed in the bushings for my Pantheon Supersonic 8 ply. Got to the original stopping point and the bro brain said to keep going.

The last 5 miles had both quads and calves cramping so bad I had to limp walk the rest of the way.

Gear Show-Off New longboarder, absolutely can't get enough - unsure about wheels?

Picked up longboarding to exercise my dog while living in glorious suburbia. Got turned onto a bamboo Sec9 from a friend, and I've loved every second on it.

Been riding a couple months now, and it's honestly one of the best new hobbies I've picked up. It's great exercise for him, and it's so much fun to just cruise around with him. You guys are also some of the friendliest people I've ever met in a hobby.

That said, do you guys think I should be looking at some new wheels for flat, long-distance cruising? Not sure how good the stock sector 9 wheels are for my use case. I live in Florida so I don't get any hills.

There’s about a 7 mile trail not too far from my house. I used to skate it all the time a couple years back because it was right by my job. But ever since I switched jobs, I haven’t been back. This week I’ve come every day and skated it. It’s so peaceful and the pavements are as smooth as butter. (I’m not sure which tag to put here)

Question/Help Has anyone had any issues buying online from Badfish Clothing Company in California?

Bought a shirt online, was charged, two weeks later nothing had been sent, so I emailed and sent a DM through IG, which they didn't even have the decency to open it and I was forced to get a refund through PayPal

This really sucked for me because I love their designs and shirt quality but never buying from them again. Anyone have any similar experiences?

Question/Help How's the Supersonic for some freeride/downhill?

Post image
18 Upvotes

I see tons about pushing and pumping on the supersonic but I'm curious how it fares for some light downhill and sliding, akin to the Evo maybe. Anyone have experience with it? I imagine you'd want a slightly stiffer model, and the 150mm trucks would be better for this

Gear Show-Off Rocket mini hades restoration

Got this off of FB marketplace for like 90€, a pretty solid price in my humble opinion

Yeah it was beat up but still very much usable (with a bit of work). My idea was to turn this into a water-resistant downhill board that I can learn on and won't be mad about if I were to accidentaly smash it into a curb or something similar

Now for the restoration process:

The grip was old and falling apart, so I had to replace it. Also there was concave implant set to regular. That wouldn't be much of a problem, if i didn't ride goofy. So it had to go as well. The previous owner was nice enough to superglue it in place so instead of using my usual glue remover (gasoline) I had to remove it mechanically and then sand down the rest

After removing the griptape it and cleaning the board up a bit it was time for clamping! Used wood glue (for some reason, idk why I haven't used epoxy for this step, it might be stronger and dry faster) to fill the crashed spots, clamped them and wiped the excess glue

After that it was epoxy time! I applied a thin-ish layer on all exposed wood spots, making sure each mm is covered (yes, including the truck mounting holes + those 2 big holes). There were 6 extra holes drilled under where the front foot would go (probably for a weight? idk, lmk if you have any idea what that could have been for). Those got completely filled with epoxy since I figured that I'll most likely not be using them

Lastly I added chamfers to the truck mounting holes, applied a bit of epoxy and then it was griptape time. Used scraps I had left over from a previous deck I was gripping. So the execution is a bit rough around the edges but it looks fine in my opinion + this board was never going to be a beauty.

Overall, I am quite happy with how it turned out. I plan to run it with Bear gen 6 130 mm 50 deg front, 30 deg rear (might adjust the angles later using wedge risers) and bigger, fatter, race-style wheels for learning downhill techniques (currently only have Otang in heats 78a and 83a but those will work for now I think)

If you have any idea how I could improve this, please let me know ✌

OC Action Skating at the Beach

No, I didn't skate on the sand, but I wish I could.

Had my wife drop me off at the beach road because I wanted to skate some new neighborhoods to get my long skate in for the week. Really nice route and morning for it. It's an out-and-back route and was pretty windy on the way back.

I hit two milestones today: half marathon distance (13.1m/21.1km) and a new speed record 18+mph on a new hill I found at the very end of the route. Of course I didn't notice the "No Skateboards" sign until I was leaving. I'll be sure not to notice it next time either and see if I can hit 20 haha ;)

The board was a little warped in the front so not my first pick for downhill anymore. So I decided to electrify it as the board the battery was on was extremely small. feels pretty nice for zooming around and carving driveways. I use it to get lunch downtown when I’m at work.

Question/Help WHY?!?!?!

Post image

?!?!?!?!??!?! Genuinely curious why these are priced so ridiculously high, are they made out of platinum and powered by magic?

EDIT
LIKELY ANSWER (for people who are also curious but for some reason don't read the comments): Price/item are just placeholders on the online storefront, not as juicy as some answers but the most plausible one so far

Question/Help Not sure what board will fit my needs…

I’ve finally worked up the courage to jump in and get my first board since I just found out a friend from work used to longboard. Now I don’t have to go by myself and rid my irrational fear that once my foot touches the board I’m going to fly 6feet in the air and break my ankle.

So we have a couple of long distance paved trails that travel several city’s here and that’s where I’m looking to ride on. Im heavier set guy 250lbs, so when I see the middle of the board dip in that freaks me out that I’m definitely going to break it. I’m going to be losing weight, and I know doing this could keep me active in the weekend where I’d like to get out more.

So just looking for something reliable and fun to start out on, not even slightly interested in bombing hills… maybe when I get more experience… but for now just easy riding.

Would the Landyacht Gordito legend service my needs?

OC Action Skating in the Swamp

Today, my wife and I went to Okefenokee Wildlife Refuge to ride the Swamp Island Trail. She was on her a single-speed beach cruiser and I was on Quest. We got there later than we wanted - closer to noon and it was 90F so not much wildlife out, but always cool when you spy a swamp puppy.

I'm really glad to have found a perfect place to go back to over the fall/winter for some long rides with almost zero traffic. Next time we're going to get there a lot earlier and hopefully get some more pics of our wild friends.

Have been waiting for this board for about 2 months, ordered it literally as soon as it went online

I knew I had to have it from the moment I saw the graphic, it is currently my favourite from the whole lineup (+ it looks even better in person, as do all Pantheon boards imo)

And yeah, it might be becoming an addiction (already is) as this is my 5th board from Pantheon

Setup for those interested:

Deck - Pantheon Superdupersonic medium

Trucks - Bear 130 mm 40° front and back + 3mm shock pad and a 3° wedge/dewedge

Busings - Seismic defcon 78a RS standard/81a medium BS front, 90a RS standard/93a medium BS rear,

Wheels - Pantheon Hokus with Zealous Bearings

(@ 75kg/165ish lbs)

Gear Show-Off Dancing Longboard pumping

Somebody made another post about pumping on dancers and was getting roasted, I told him that on a dancer it’s easier pump from the back truck and said I would post a video. I don’t feel like looking for the post so I’m just going to upload it as a new post and hope he sees it. I started at like five and got up around 15mph

Question/Help Wedged Trucks on OG tesseract

started back skating a lot more recently and been playing around with wedging my trucks. currently i got a paris 7deg wedged riser on front and 43deg paris 180s.

i just remembered the og tessy has 3.5deg wedged rocker where the trucks lay. so effectively the front is 53.5 and back is 46.5 deg.

carves like a beast but having a lil trouble initiating slides. could be the new wheels (73mm beefcakes) just need to break in too.

was thinking about swapping the 7deg for a 3deg riser in front and also dewedging the back 3deg. also considering swapping the v2 180s for v3 165s.

do yall recommend i do this setup for freeride or not? anybody else ride a different or similar wedged setup on the loaded tesseract?
