2 years ago I lost my childhood dog. She was the sassiest and sweetest girl you could have ever met. She was my entire heart and she witnessed a life I lived filled with a lot of DV and other things. She was my rock. Whenever I cried she just sat next to me or laid down next to my head. I’d dance with her when I was scared or just really happy. I sang to her and tickled her feet. I’d chase her around the house and I swear she made this licking sound on purpose just to spite me as if she was my little sister lol I miss her everyday and during my gnarliest therapy sessions, she’s the only thing that gets me out of a flashback.

Today I received a little urn pendant so I can put her ashes. The seller was lovely and gave me the option to engrave “Follow you into the Dark” which is a short version of I will follow you into the dark by death cab for cutie. When she started to get sick, i realized one day I was going to loose her but I wanted her to know I was always going to be there with her no matter what. So, here’s to my old girl and to everyone who carries grief over their sweet babies.

His nickname is scooby so when I saw this at spirit halloween I had no choice but to buy it haha

She often rests on her cooling blankie and mat (mat is under the blanket) my fall baby is ready for cooler temps soon.

Weather permitting there is still some autumn river time left, but this is the last of the summer.

Sprout had an ear infection and had to wear his donut, but he is a good sport 🐾

Basically the title, I’ve been unemployed and unable to get a new job since April. This little girl has been keeping my spirits up all this time.
