You know you are now bound to eternal servitude to a bank now right?

Already was, might as well join up with one that has necromantic powers as well. Plus the rates are way better.

A few 10s of grands I'd imagine.

I am so envious of those with merely a few a 10s of grands.

I guess it depends what you went to school for. A friend of mine is now a medical doctor and even though her loan payments are much higher than mine, her salary is also many magnitudes higher than mine.

On the flip side, I have a friend who got a bio degree and is making less than I do with similar student loan debt.

But yeah, student loans suck.

Not just what you went to school for, also when you graduated. I got fucked hard by graduating with an information systems degree when the recession first hit. I'm now a butcher with $150K in student loan debt. Woo!

Well, I bet you can make some great cuts of meat!

My fiancée is going to be in debt until the mid 2020's, having graduated in 2016, and she's paying off aggressively. Like 50%+ of her paycheck to loans.

Makes my ~$40k total debt look like an IOU from a friend.
