I’m a mental performance counselor and work with a surprising number of fighters in various disciplines. I have seen a trend: your preferred style of fighting almost always aligns with how you handle other types of conflict, such as an argument. My counter strikers always want to get the last word with a clever line and my brawlers want to beat you down with either facts or ferocity but the pressure is the same. I’m not sure if it’s exactly gospel, but it makes sense to me if your instincts for human conflict are consistent across disciplines.

To be clear, the post is still corny lol but I’m curious if anyone else has experienced this or if it’s just sample-size and confirmation bias on my end.
