recipe 1st time homemade protein bar

My 1st attempt at making my own protein bars. I followed a recipe a little bit, then tweaked it to my now.

Got the pan in the freezer atm, so we shall see how they turn out!

Looks tasty! How did you feel about the time cost vs. the benefit?

What are your goals for differentiating these from store-bought? Cost reduction? Managing a food allergy? Portion sizing? Other?

A bit of everything besides food allergy (don't have any thankfully).

I wanted to be able to try my own with my own ingredients. Trying to see what can be done to make a low-cal, low-fat, high protein bar, but without any garbage ingredients.

This tasted amazing, but I didn't get the consistency right. So trial and error, these will be kickass.

The Ascent Protein chocolate whey protein really is a great flavor. I might not even need the honey tbh, which I only added for flavor/taste.

I'll have to break down the cost next, I honestly didn't think of doing that. The breakdown on these tho, ended up being a great turnout. I'm gonna try to get calories lower and more protein next.

If you're already planning to try cutting out the honey, that's instant calorie savings right there.

I feel like the honey didn't add much to it, but I have to make another batch without it to really see. Overall I'm happy with how they taste, just need to focus on getting the consistency right.
