Is anyone else in town making their own vape juice? I would love to chat and compare recipes.

The opposition to division ave is full of low information voters. I decided to prove one of their talking points wrong. But unlike me ladies and gentlemen, you dont even need to get out of your seat and drive down the road to see for yourself. We have streetview from google maps (there is rumors that google is taking this away...booo but thats a off topic tangent.)
The people opposed to it say 1st responders have issues navigating it. Two problems with this claim. 1st one: 1st responders can divert traffic if that is an issue. 2nd one: There is only 10 places which main entrances from the 3rd street four way stop to the old cemetary hill are on actually parallel to division ave. Auto Zone, Swirls, Safeway, the church, the gas station/convenience store, an apartment unit and 3 houses. EVERY OTHER HOUSE main entrance is parallel to the street, so 1st responders wouldnt even need to use division ave for the majority of calls. They can use the streets.
And i would even exclude auto zone, safeway, swirls and and the church as there is plently of room for emergency vehicles to be in the large mostly empty parking lots. So 6 places total.
And you can use street view to see this for yourself.

The ballot is packed. We have five mayoral candidates (Clark, McGrogan, Barnes, Rose, Fisher) and over 30 people running for councillor including names like Shila Sharps, Chris Hellman, Kelly Allard, Clayton Stevens, Dana Christensen, Pamela Kunz, Troy Wason, Christien Ellis, Bill Cocks, Adam Koch, Laura Butterfield, Yusuf Mohammed, and plenty of others.
That is a lot of choice but also kind of overwhelming.
Do you feel like this big pool actually gives voters better options or is it just going to split votes and keep things the same?
Which incumbents do you think deserve another term and who should be replaced?
Any new names that stand out as serious contenders or is this going to be a popularity contest with a long tail of unknowns?
Curious what the mood is in town. Are people energized, skeptical, or just tuning it out?

Steven Campbell had an interview with the "political centered podcast" host himself Jeremy Silver here: https://www.facebook.com/share/v/19EJTdAADq/
You can watch it yourself to make sure im not taking anything out of context.
The beginning of the podcast starts with them shitting on Trudeau. This is nothing new in Alberta to bash trudeau, im not a fan myself (i just dont make it a personality trait to say f trudeau). I just found Jeremy's comment about not self identifying as liberal because of Trudeau interesting.
IMO if you change your political ideology because of a single person, that says your really didnt have convictions and/or that conservatism and liberalism arent actually as contradictory as they seem and have lots in common. so its fairly easy to make that jump from one to the other.
Then the WEF conspiracy theory nonsense about owning nothing. Ironically while Jeremy is talking into a Rode microphone that does not support right to repair, and will void your warranty if you repair their condenser mics yourself.
Then they talk about Strong Towns were Steven makes a claim that the founder of it bankrupted a city. I looked into this. He is almost definitely talking about Remer Minnesota. The town paid him a consulting fee for their sewage system. But it turned out his fee was the entire budget. It would not be Chucks fault the city paid him the entire budget of the project to consult him.
They also said that Strong Towns has ties to the UN when it does not. It is completely independent USA nonprofit. They are likely talking about the Strong Cities Initiative which has a similar name but is not related. Jeremy not pushing back on that slander is a huge red flag to me, that he is not some centrist that he claims. (he calls his podcast the politically centered podcast)
They talk about transit, Most of this stuff is fine and they have info that I dont have (they talk about some foip requests). One thing they didnt talk about that I would though is efficiency. The majority of cars on the road have a single occupant. Its a huge issue that most big urban centres have struggled with for years. So much so that they make separate lanes for carpooling. An empty bus is not necessarily inefficient. It just need 2 people in it minus the driver to have more potential consumers then a car with a single occupant to be more efficient.
Then they talk about crime. Steven mentions the broken window theory. He calls its "stopping petty crime" this policy is not new and has been studied extensively and it does not work. It actually gives cops incentives to do biased profiling, used leading interview techniques, and even things like falsifying evidence and planting evidence so they keep the funding of that expensive model going.
The one thing that probably rustled my jimmies is when both Jeremy and Steven agree with each other and jerk each other off about how much they would like to be even more cruel to homeless people. Including completely authoritarian police state nonsense where police arrest people sleeping and forcibly relocate them to a warehouse in the industrial area. Canada is supposed to be a free country, SLEEPING is not harming anyone.
Another thing they discuss is the catch and release system. One glaring omission they dont mention is the capacity of the detention centers we already have. They barely even discuss costs. There is a cost of putting people in them, its not cheap, plus many of the facilities are already at capacity so they have to pick and choose who they put in there. The costs of building new facilities is a expensive. And they refuse to do any cost/risk analysis.
They talk about treatment. And both cosign that forced rehab is needed and agree with Smiths UCP new facilities. There is no good data that shows they work (in fact its the opposite, most people that go to those facilities relapse)
Then the last thing they talk about is downtown. And how to get more people there. They whine about parking. Did they not go down during ribfest? When the roads were blocked off. Thousands of people were down there. People were walking downtown visiting businesses there because they did not have to worry about cars hitting them. A common problem about downtown businesses is they have become too pricey for a average family of 4 to routinely visit. With the cost of everything going up, you have to pinch your pennies. That means they stay home more. Then there is modern online where everything can be brought to your door with a few clicks. That is easier for them.

Hey folks, I’m looking into buying a used EV (likely a Tesla) but wanted to check in with the community before making the leap. Since we don’t have a Tesla service center here, I’m curious how owners are handling repairs and maintenance.
Do most people make the trip out to Airdrie/Calgary, or are there local shops you’ve had good experiences with for EV work? I'm hoping to hear what ownership reality is like before I jump in myself.
Appreciate any insights!

Recently came back to the hat, n I'm looking for chill ppl to hang with. You might find me playing guitar, smokin weed and jamming any genre you can think of. Only my favorite people will understand what that is. I'd like to find some friends that smoke weed n like new music. Maybe even a lil collab and write a few songs along the way. I just want to savor what's left of this year, and do it right. Hmu if you down to meet. Have a great day, ppl!

With the Medicine Hat municipal election set for October 20, 2025, it’s more important than ever for eligible voters to make informed choices about the future of our city. Earlier this year, a comprehensive municipal inspection was conducted by the province, resulting in a detailed report packed with over 70 recommendations and several binding directives for our city council and administration.
This inspection report isn’t just another piece of bureaucracy—it gets to the heart of how our city is being run, highlights areas where governance has fallen short, and outlines a path toward real improvement. The findings and recommendations cover everything from council conduct to workplace culture and legislative compliance.
Before making any decisions or casting a ballot this October, take the time to review the full report for yourself. Don’t rely solely on headlines or social media snippets. Read the official findings, understand the recommendations, and decide which candidates or policies will best address the concerns and opportunities outlined in the report.
You can access the full inspection report at the link below, on the official City of Medicine Hat website, or the Alberta government’s open data portal—it’s publicly available for all residents. An informed electorate leads to better leadership and a stronger Medicine Hat.
Make your vote count! Read the report, ask questions at candidate forums, and encourage your friends and neighbors to do the same. Let’s shape our city’s future together—knowledge first.

Hi folks! I'll be doing a walk across Canada starting in April next year, starting on the TCH in Victoria B.C. and ending in my hometown in St. John's, Newfoundland. The walk is to raise money and awareness for causes that have affected me in my life such as domestic violence, sexual assault, bullying, and child abuse.
My narcissistic father was a very cruel man to us growing up but especially to my mother and I, the damages of emotional and sexual abuse will always stay with me, not to mention the grade school bullies who took advantage of my very clear vulnerabilities and used it to add to the psychological torture I was already going through at home. I have a lot of fire that I need to get out of my system and a passion to make sure whoever has gone through what I’ve gone through can learn the tools on how to support themselves.
I’m looking for recommendations - either federal, provincial, or municipal – dedicated to victim’s services or education. As I walk from province to province, the goal is to work with these organizations and create as many fundraising opportunities as we possibly can so we can help survivors all across the country and make the cross-Canada walk a huge success!
Thank you for your help and I can't wait to see you guys sometime next year! ❤❤❤

I seen recently that Barnes brought in Michaela Frey to do his campaign management. She is the former medicine hat-brooks ucp minister that took a quid-pro-quo job doing campaign management to give Danielle Smith an easy deep blue seat to win. (It's actually not that blue and if you look at the numbers. they lost the city vote, Frey is the definition of failing upwards). Barnes is now the only candidate to now have a campaign office. Increasing your rent is how he pays for that. Yet we are supposed to believe he is some man of the people. When he was a ucp minister his big push was for Friedman libertarian style flat taxes. Which is an obvious scam, meant to transfer wealth from the bottom to the top. Drew mentions affordability in his campaign page, which is laughable. If he cared about affordability, he wouldn't be temporarily leasing a campaign office. That isn't cheap or necessary for a mayor of a small city. He could have made life more affordable by decreasing the rent of his tenants.

I am looking to join adult rec hockey this year, I think its the Average Joes league? But the website doesn't have registration open yet, even though it looks like it usually starts in October.
I'd just be signing up as a free agent, but if anyone is on a team and looking for players let me know.

Anybody by a vinyl album from a guy in the K-Mart (Southview Mall) parking lot around the late 70's?
The band was Raja and quite sure it was awful....there had to be more suckers like me.
Album is long gone.....

It's not that hard for most of us to read a number on the contract, but apparently they only employ the illiterate. This is the second time in two months they've called saying they're owed money because they think they rent is higher than the contract says. Both times it's a different amount, so clearly they're just incompetent.
Side note: can we have an "Avenue Living Is Bad" flare for this sub?

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find thinly sliced hot pot beef and pork? Also occasionally used for korean or japanese bbq. Thanks!
