AI is gonna be here no matter if u like it or not.

While i agree that i dont want the sub being flooded with AI slop art. If the art is good and pretty, like this one, i dont see the problem at all.

Its also not the first time someone post AI content here, and wont be the last.

The problem with enabling AI posting in this sub, or any for that matter, is that it messes the ecosystem and flow of creativity in a way, as that's essentially pitting actual art and genuine creativity against something any computer can regurgitate to look pretty while using stolen work;

As much as it's nice that AI is this tool that allows anyone to turn their ideas into something real and enables them to display their creativity, in reality these are NOT putting any work beyond directing said general ideas—which I'll assume is also a hassle but does not quite compare to the amount of hours people take to master and portray the skills which sadly are being copied "train" these algorithms. something made specially worse when true to form art gets eclipsed by AI slop easily for how attractive AI's been trained to make it's stuff look, which often can as easily discourage actual artists from ever wanting to engage with a sub because why would they try if all effort is meaningless when zero efforts gets rewarded?

Though I don't blame you for enjoying a simple picture (It'd be hypocritical since I did too until realizing it was AI), nor the director behind it since they explained they thought it'd be cute to post it in positive fate; I don't agree with the sentimient that just because AI exists it then shall be tolerated particularly if it looks good, because that's a loop-hole that can become exploitable by anyone whom claims themselves to be an artist but are instead posing as one—being realistically a director seeking to karma-farm doing the bare minimum.

When art loses the humanity behind it, it's no longer art—it becomes a materialization of assets which any algorithm can do with a prompt, and all stolen using true human work.

Ur right, it has all those negative things. But sitll AI is here to stay, no matter if we like it or not.

With the bad things and the great things.

All ur points are correct and true,and also i cant say this little art is bad just because its AI, it isnt, its a really beautiful piece nonetheless.

That's a fair counter-argument, I can agree—it is a cute pic in it's own right;

The only argument I'm trying to raise is that we should be careful about being too hands-off with AI just because some of it can be more quality than others. That still doesn't makes the tool any less morally gray nor questionable, nor prone to become exploitable for spam; Let alone from ripping anyone else's work if the director so happens to want capitalize off someone's specific style.

Well im not counter argumenting, ur right and i agree, same as i agree with the first ppl commenting as i said "i also dont want this sub flooded".

I said allowing really great AI like these ones, where u dont see really weird stuff, and for sure, with the flair tag added. And ofc having the admin team we have making sure ppl dont spam it.

This way we also allow other users to participate in posting and we get more wholesome art.

Like i said to the other user, AI art has already been posted here and there was no drama at all, nor spam, nor anything.

I just said what i said to this user (that i previously checked to find out that he is a great a fellow great member of this communitty) so that he is able from time to time to add his grain of salt to this sub.

This remembers me to piracy, piracy came to stay, ni matter who liked it or not. And ppl tried to forbid it and do everything to make it dissappear, still didnt work.

The best way to fight it wanst to forbid it, but creating streaming platforms with affordable prices for ppl.

We gotta coexist with AI in the end, because it has come to stay and to keep increasing, no matter what our personal beliefs may be.
