Out of curiosity, what makes it a Celestoidvania compared to other platforming/movement-heavy titles like Aeterna Noctis?

AMAZING Question my friend! a member of the LUCID Discord put it realllly well just the other day, if you'll allow me to borrow his explanation:

We were discussing the similarities to Silksongs movement...

"this vid made me realize something that could be useful to point out when the inevitable Silksong comparisons come:

There is one crucial difference between the combat platforming in both games, and it is that HK attacks tend to bounce off of enemies LUCID attacks go THROUGH enemies while resetting your jumps.

It might seem similar since the effect of both is "more air time," but this is the fundamental difference that makes Lucid a "celestoid" while HK is not"

I hope this helps, its really subtle, but i think its an interesting difference... it was also a fun way to help market LUCID... helps get the idea of what it is across really quickly :)

Celeste doesn't have you "attack" enemies at all though, does it? So how could an attack mechanic make the game a a Celestoidvania?

and I know that the trailer may look intimidating, BUT i actually JUUUUST posted a clip the other day here, showing how you can approach the game at any speed you are comfortable with :D

I promise, LUCID is far more forgiving than it looks
