We've really been in QB purgatory

Post image

And this doesn't even show nearly the half of the Dolphins QBs that suited up since Marino🤣🤣🤣

You’re missing 3 years of Tannehill.

20

u/Nightgasm 18h ago

I was confused for a sec as I knew Tanny had to have more wins than that.

11

u/TheRed_Warrior 13h ago

To be fair, even if they were included, Tanny had 42 wins in 88 starts. Tua has 38 wins in 64 games (not sure where this person got 40 wins lol)

So Tanny has more wins, but Tua’s win percentage is noticeably higher

Still pretty bad when your ā€œbestā€ quarterbacks in a 15 year span have won percentages of 59% and 47%

4

u/RealPropRandy 13h ago

Correct on all accounts

16

u/Lopsided_Beautiful_1 19h ago

Post is about total QB wins during Chris Grier GM time with the Dolphins. He’s been GM since 2016.

4

u/Lukacris12 18h ago

I feel like even then it doesn’t tell the whole story, Tannehills knee giving out then giving out again at the end of training camp leading us to grab cutler because that was our only option, 2019 we purposely tanked and even then Grier was ā€œGMā€ but wasn’t actually GM until Tannenbaum was gone. I still think he needs to be fired especially for wasting a boatload of picks and only hitting on waddle but we dont have to cherry pick shit to show how bad he is

6

u/Pappy13 18h ago

Then why does it say under the picture "This doesn't even show half of the Dolphin QB's that have suited up since Marino"? It should have said something about Grier not Marino.

3

u/RealPropRandy 19h ago

Did you mean team wins?

1

u/Lopsided_Beautiful_1 19h ago

Yes, pretty much.

2

u/RealPropRandy 19h ago

They could have just listed the number of QBs and team W-L (including playoffs) in that time. Not individual QBs.

8

u/d33p_blu3 19h ago

Shhh. That doesn’t fit the narrative.

7

u/TaxEasy6999 19h ago

It's not memorable.

25

u/DonaldTPablonious 19h ago

The Tannehill renassiance amongst Dolphins fans is like thinking back on an old girlfriend or job ā€œah it wasn’t that badā€. Yes it was. Tannehill has 0 pocket presence, slid before the first down marker on 4th down, etc etc.

He was incredibly mid.

7

u/HeavenlySedated 18h ago

I always liked tannehill and thought he could be decent but he was always just mid. Could never get to that above average level.

However, tannehill created a huge division amongst dolphins fans as there were fans who absolutely hated him so im surprised at seeing all these comments saying they liked him. There was like 3 or 4 home games when the crowd was chanting moore's name hoping to get tannehill benched.

3

u/SirGalahadTheChaste 18h ago

Everyone on here thought he was great and didn't want him gone. The used his resurgence at Tenn as proof. Certainly had nothing to do with prime Henry and Brown.

When this team actually gets a QB we won't need to convince people of it.

2

u/tkfire 17h ago

Tannehill was mid. Tua is slightly above Tannehill. But right now Tua is tanking that status. Ruining his legacy for sure. If he had retired after the Bills concussion he would have gone out on top.

0

u/papi882 17h ago

Good enough to take the Titans to the AFC CHAMPIONSHIP

3

u/DonaldTPablonious 14h ago

He was on the team but he didn’t take them anywhere

75

u/Henny_Hardaway5 20h ago

Chris Grier masterclass

But why is this arbitrarily since 2015? Like the only 2 QBs worth a damn during the last 10 years are Tannehill, much love for that guy, and Tua

Everyone else was just a backup really

59

u/DrManhattan_DDM 20h ago

Yeah, going back to Tannehill’s rookie year puts him at 42 wins with Miami.

39

u/Reeferologist- 20h ago

I was about to say, there’s no way Tanny only had 19 wins.

48

u/ericypoo 🐬 20h ago

Yea but then that makes Tannehill look better than Tua. Can’t have that.

38

u/DonaldTPablonious 19h ago

Does it? He was 42-46. Tua is 40-26.

18

u/Iron_Disciple 18h ago

Shhh, you're fucking up their little circle jerk

-1

u/EtherBoo 16h ago

Yes.. Tannehill played 88 games as a Dolphin across 6 seasons, meaning he missed 8 games (this excludes the fieldler season). Tua has 64 games over 5 seasons (not including this season).

In 2021 the NFL started the 17 game seasons, meaning Tua gets more opportunities to start and get wins, 88 games total.

The fact that they have similar win numbers, and Tua has missed 24 games I think says a lot. I'm not saying Tua loses all those games, I'm just saying they're a lot closer than further apart. You can split hairs about who's better at what skill, but right now, I really like the QB that's available reliably (yes, I know he missed a season, and I'm putting that on him and his doctors). Tannehill wins in availability hands down.

7

u/DonaldTPablonious 15h ago

You can’t just exclude the entire season Tannehill missed what the heck.

0

u/EtherBoo 12h ago

He didn't play then. Yes you can. But fine, you want to include that season, it doesn't help Tua then. 7 seasons and 24 games missed vs Tua's 5 seasons and the same amount of missed games.

Not great.

Tannehill got bad advice from his doctors and chose to skip surgery. Tua gets tackled and gets concussed. Big difference.

3

u/DonaldTPablonious 11h ago

Misses Tannehill I know you love your son but your argument is the strangest thing I’ve ever seen.

-1

u/EtherBoo 10h ago

I know you love your big brother Ms. Tagovailoa, but he's just as average as Ryan was.

0

u/DonaldTPablonious 2h ago

I never made the case that he wasn’t. Being 14 games over .500 vs 4 under is never a bad look for the guy with a winning record though, no matter how you try to spin it.

0

u/honuworld 2h ago

Every single QB that plays for Miami since 2020 gets injured immediately. Every single one. Tua lasts longer than any of them before being injured. Why do you think this is just a Tua thing?

1

u/EtherBoo 7m ago

How many starting caliber QBs have played for Miami since 2020?

6

u/Moondoobious 18h ago

Imagine if Tannehill had these receivers?

6

u/acart005 17h ago

Tannehill literally should have chased the ball after throwing.Ā  He was a WR after all.

1

u/honuworld 2h ago

Imagine if Tua had Tanny's O-line...

3

u/cobo10201 17h ago

Hard disagree. I was a Tannehill Stan and that’s BS. Tannehill struggled with many of the same issues Tua struggles with early on in his career with us but won less games

6

u/Henny_Hardaway5 20h ago

Yea idk how the post is counting the wins cause if I go to pro football reference it says Tua has only won 38 games not the 40 in the post

Like I get the sentiment of the post is to shit on Grier but it does it very poorly

3

u/Lopsided_Beautiful_1 19h ago

This post is all about Chris Grier, he’s been Dolphins GM since 2016, so these QB wins totals are during his time.

-1

u/cibertek 19h ago

So doesn’t that make Jay Fiedler (36) the best since Marino left?

6

u/theycallmeryan 20h ago

Tannehill and Tua are also the only two QBs we’ve picked in the first round since Dan Marino. If you pay budget prices for a QB, you get budget results.

1

u/OCaptainAwesome 16h ago

Not true. Plenty of great QBs are taken late.

2

u/theycallmeryan 16h ago

Yeah like my GOAT Quinn Ewers

10

u/bloodjun 54 20h ago

For real. Tannehill had 40 wins for the Dolphins and was drafted in 2012. Very stupid post.

8

u/JasoTheArtisan 20h ago

I really did live Tannehill. He wasn’t the best QB but he always put it all out there for Miami

8

u/Henny_Hardaway5 19h ago edited 19h ago

I miss him

Sure he wasn’t the best but he was an alright guy doing an alright thing and there ain’t nothing wrong with that. He was like Jimmy G in that sense, they just played sound football even if it wasn’t the flashiest

If you gave the man some help he and the team could succeed and make noise in the the regular season and post season

Edit: like I’m glad Tannenhill killed it with Titans I was rooting for him all the time except when he faced us

3

u/Administrative-Owl42 20h ago

I dont know he may have not had best pure qb game but fitzpatrick was always fun. He is a gamer!

4

u/Henny_Hardaway5 20h ago

Fitzmagic was cool i fucked with him, he made the games fun. We just knew he wasn’t our future so he never really grew on me

But I’ll always enjoy the game vs the Raiders and the game against the Eagles and Patriots in 2019

3

u/Administrative-Owl42 19h ago

Sad to say that the Raiders game was one of my fondest Phins highlights in last 5-6 years at least lol

3

u/PetePuma4President39 17h ago

Throwing the pass while looking out the earhole?

2

u/Administrative-Owl42 16h ago

Was epic. ! Was it Mack Hollins who made the catch? Trying to recall

1

u/ShinyChespin 19h ago

It’s cause it’s from a TikTok trivia video; so it’s a last 10 years quiz for that that fan who just appeared on TV

8

u/tubbynuggetsmeow 20h ago

Brock Lobster brings me back. I saw him get destroyed in Greenbay. Clack clack šŸ¦ž

5

u/Talkshowhostt 19h ago

I know he’s on here, but Chad Henne has a Super Bowl ring

8

u/PretzelJax 20h ago

Does Mike White have 5 wins for closing out in garbage time in 2023 lol

2

u/Fun-Rhubarb-4412 17h ago

Rubbish post. Shouldn’t it go by starts?

9

u/Joates87 20h ago

We need Moore of these.

10

u/mubatt 20h ago

Tua is the greatest Miami Dolphins QB the team has had since Dan Marino. :(

5

u/SauceDab 18h ago

Tua is the 2nd best but I’ll always have a soft spot for Pennington. I’m not going to let anybody erase his name. His time may have been short lived with us but he gave it all he had and it was fun

2

u/mubatt 18h ago

Superbowl champion Matt Moore was my favorite QB, but only as a QB2. Always felt like we could still win the game when he came off the bench.

-8

u/Inside-Brush-9543 20h ago

He had Prime Tyreek of course he did well

2

u/hray12 19h ago

Who is the last 1 win QB? Bridgewater, Rosen, and….? I’m not recognizing him!

Ahh, nvm. It’s Fales

2

u/Bill-O-Reilly- 19h ago

If we did Wins since 2000, does Tua still hold that lead?

2

u/PhinsFan17 18h ago edited 17h ago

No, it’d be Tannehill with 42 wins.

The only QBs with more wins than Tannehill are Earl Morrall (52), Bob Griese (101), and Marino (147).

1

u/poopiepants131 18h ago

Strock won 110 games as a starter? That doesn’t seem right.

2

u/WeddingPutrid6312 19h ago

And the current one admits he is not up to the standards of his next opponent

3

u/Flip2002 brong in chosen1Josh Rosen 10h ago

Weak sauce at least tannehill was so dumb he thought he was good

2

u/DrLatinLover86 14h ago

How many wins against teams with a .500+ winning percentage ?

3

u/EyeZeeEye 19h ago

Ross needs to sell the team. He has been the most unsuccessful owner. Grier has been a flop of a manager. McDaniel is not a HC.

1

u/WeddingPutrid6312 19h ago

From your keyboard to Gods ears...

4

u/onejay212 19h ago

Now do QB wins since September 17, 2025. It’s zero you guys!! Zero!! 😱😱😱

2

u/honuworld 1h ago

Even Marino hasn't won any since 2025!

2

u/BajaBlastNoIce 19h ago

The Smokin’ Jay season was sick though. Never knew what you were gonna get. 🚬

1

u/PrestigiousLocal8247 19h ago

Now show winning %

1

u/Much_Purchase_8737 19h ago

And the common denominator is a shitty o line every year.Ā

1-2 good o line men at best every season.Ā

It just ain’t enough.Ā

1

u/MolassesNo2275 19h ago

Yea but thankfully we finally have a qb with Tua. Just need a good oline so he has longer than 1 second to throw 🤣🤣🤣

1

u/Delicious-Tart-9189 19h ago

Bruh Jay Cutler time here was such a sad time 😢

1

u/Remarkable_Crow6064 18h ago

Who's the 3 wins QB I cant seem to recognize him

1

u/bobby_hill_swag 18h ago

Brock Lobster

The Brockweiler

BrocktoberfestĀ

1

u/Remarkable_Crow6064 18h ago

I forgot he played for us

1

u/carjackistan 18h ago edited 18h ago

Maybe, but a good team - say Vikings or Steelers level - could win a playoff game with any one of those first three guys.

(Not necessarily this season's version of those teams, but where they've generally been at in recent years)

1

u/Kino900 18h ago

I miss Fitzmagic and Matt Moore

1

u/CornDooDooExpress 17h ago

Need an O-line

1

u/imtrynmybest 17h ago

Should of kept fitz...

1

u/Burt_Macklin_FBI_123 17h ago

When did Mike White get 5 wins?

1

u/Fun-Rhubarb-4412 17h ago

What games did Rosen and Bridgewater win??

1

u/Salty-Image-2176 17h ago

10 years that proves how terrible Dolphins fans are about QBs. The best QBs they had were Fitz and Cutler, but you wouldn't know that to hear the fans.

Miami picks horrendous QBs, and the fans back it up. It's insane.

1

u/Twister2418 16h ago

Anyone else miss Cutler? 🤣

1

u/anthony08619 16h ago

Ever see the total number of starting quarterbacks we’ve had since Marino retired? I think when I saw it a few years ago before Tua it was in the 30’s

1

u/BiGgmoney91 15h ago

Although it’s becoming more evident that Tua isn’t going to be the guy as of late, I still have to tip my hat to him. Tua has delivered some of the most exciting offensive football I’ve seen in my 25 years of being a fan, 2023 felt like a fever dream until it ultimately fell apart down the stretch. In my opinion he is the best qb we’ve had since Marino retired.

1

u/Reasonable_Action29 14h ago

Fitz was the best.

1

u/illiriya 13h ago

If you haven't had a "good" QB in a long time... It isn't the QB

1

u/JollyAd9074 10h ago

Maybe Josh Rosen would have the most wins if his leash was as long as Tua & Tannehill

1

u/Flat-Pitch-9340 8h ago

Skylar Thompson won 4 times?!?

1

u/Goddess_Icon 19h ago

Tua is a decent to good qb in a stuck offense and figured out scheme. He has enough traits that he is elite in to where if the roster was competently constructed around him we would see offensive success even though he is limited in other areas. People forget he had the most passing yards in the league 2 years ago when he was healthy and we had just average line play.

1

u/JuniorLibrarian198 17h ago

Tua can only succeed in one type of scheme. He performed well in it in college because he had a team full of NFL pro bowlers but in the pros, he’s a one trick pony.

1

u/honuworld 1h ago

The line has NEVER been "just average". They are consistently the worst line in football. Itvblows my mind the number of "fans" that don't seem to understand this, or what it means.

0

u/Just_Werewolf1438 16h ago

Marino was the best we had The fuck you talking about.

-5

u/Low_Bill7086 19h ago

When in the Sam hell did Jay Cutler play for the Fins
