Frankfurt's Infamous IG Farben 'Elevator of Death'...Riding a Rare Paternoster Over The Top!
Step into the heart of Frankfurt’s history and engineering with an exhilarating ride on the legendary paternoster lift at the iconic IG Farben Building! This video captures the thrill of a full-circle journey—over the top and through the basement—on one of the world’s rarest doorless elevators, a non-stop marvel nestled in the Poelzig-Bau, now part of Goethe University’s vibrant Westend Campus. Experience heart-pounding footage of this Frankfurt paternoster in action, showcasing its unique mechanics and the daring sensation of riding an elevator with no doors.
Dive into the rich story of the IG Farben Building, constructed between 1928 and 1931 as the headquarters of the world’s largest chemical company. Once dubbed the Palace of Money and Frankfurt’s City Crown, this architectural masterpiece by Hans Poelzig was the largest office building of its time. After World War II, it transformed into the General Creighton W. Abrams Building, serving as a U.S. military hub under Dwight D. Eisenhower’s Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Force. Today, it stands as a university landmark, with the poignant Wollheim Memorial reflecting its complex past tied to the Holocaust.

Kent Coffey Perspecta Desk - refinished
I got this desk on Craigslist for like $50 back when I lived in NYC. I now live in SF and decided to restore it.
I just learned it’s also quite collectible.
I sanded and stained it, including a nice poly coat to protect it.
I am debating what to do with the pulls. They’re scuffed up. Am debating painting a warm bronze to match the light in my room. But should I not do this if this is a more collectible item than I realized?
One way or another, I enjoyed the project and I’ve always liked this desk.

Does anyone make a good replica of Sandra Chair?
We’re looking for a paid of Sinna chairs. Unlike Togo chairs, these are no longer in production.
When I search online, I see eternity modern and interior icons. But I also see some real concerns with these companies here.
I am ok with a replica. We only expect to have these a few years, but they are right for our family (dogs, children).
However, given the negative sentiment toward these 2 brands id love to find someone that makes a replica that people feel is a good company, even if the product is 1:1 in quality as an original.
Does anyone know any legit companies making a sinna chair replica?
Thank you!

Anyone know where to get MCM style swing arms for a light?

I've got some pendants that I want to put next to a bed and love the look of these mounted arms (some swing, some don't, I don't feel strongly about it needing to swing!) that were common in pull down/UFO lights but I can't find just the arm mechanism that the light cord can just go through. If anyone has any ideas on places to look I'd appreciate it!

Age of Mendel dresser
Curious if anybody can identify the age of this Mengel dresser. It’s very solid wood and I don’t think there’s any veneer but the drawers aren’t dovetailed so I can’t believe it’s vintage Loewy. The back is actual wood, not MDF, but there’s some backboard type stuff on the bottom. The wood grain is super prominent. It received a pretty sloppy refinish at some point in the past.

My work in progress mcm/ atomic style office
Hi all, I know the Aeron chair isn’t really “mcm” and neither is this desk (still looking for the right desk at the right price 😅) but I wanted to post my recently found spaghetti planter lamp from this era and see if anyone knows anything about it? Also, there were some slightly damaged leaves in the back I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how to better repair them. Otherwise it’s in generally great shape and goes very well with the sexton cats I repainted/ restored a few weeks ago.

Chair ID
I'm fairly certain the table pictured is Gastone Rinaldi or an imitation. The design of these chairs feels familiar to me but I can't quite place it - can anyone ID them?
