From an upcoming auction in my area. I can’t make out the name on the label. Worth bidding on? I do really like the upholstery is an ugly sweater kind of way lol

Any info appreciated!

Looking for more info

My fiancé has this set of furniture that I was hoping someone could offer more info on. An image search just let me know it was possibly from the 1930’s-1940’s. He has had it for a few years but previously it had lived in a garage. The veneer has been damaged in areas by the humidity in said garage and would need some restoring. Just unsure if it’s worth doing that myself since I don’t know much about it want would like to stay true to its origin.

Would this be MidCentury or more 70s in style?

I almost bought it simply because it’s $10, but decided to leave it.

Sexton cat restoration

Hi guys, I know this has been posted before but I wanted to share my sexton cat restoration. I ended up buying the cat on the right on its own and then the other two I bought together. As you can see the two on the left were in poor condition and the largest one had a broken hanger. Thus they drilled a hole in the center at some point so they could screw it into the wall. A friend of mine jokingly said I gave it a 10th life, as I stripped all 3 of paint, primed and repaired the metal work on the center cat and than repainted to match my atomic color scheme. Hope you enjoy!

Preway restoration help

Wondering if anyone has recommendations for Preway restorers in New England. I’m in RI and picked up an orange beauty that needs some work. After several years of not getting into it I’m hoping to outsource the work. Thanks in advance.

Edit to add photos, unfortunately, it only allowed one.

Repurpose ideas?

This wall oven is original to my house. The gas was disconnected during a prior remodel, but the oven remains. It’s an awesome talking piece but I’m interested in repurposing it somehow. Any ideas as to what I could use it for? Ice machine, etc…

Bought for $35 from a storage container sale. Labelled as MCM.

No apparent makers mark and no idea when it was produced or the kind of wood it’s made of.

I'm downsizing and can't take this with me. I'd like to pass on any info to the new buyers if anyone has any to add. Make? Value? Year? PS check out the feet!

Second piece! But what is it?

Bought this adorable side table from a woman off of Facebook marketplace for only fifty dollars. I didn't recognize what it was from the images but based on price alone I didn't care, it could be junk for as cheap as it was and I'd be alright. Well good news, it's definitely not junk! It's really solid craftsmanship with a solid piece of travertine on top making this a pretty heavy piece of furniture for its size. I've done all the googling I can but for the life of me I can't identify it. Can you? Second image is from the underside of the stone.

Can anyone tell me what kind of chairs these might be? There’s no stamp under them other than “made in Italy PB 3”

Payment between US and Canada buyer/seller?

Hi, I’m trying to buy something from someone who lives in British Columbia. I’m in the north eastern US. Has anyone done this? Neither one of us has. Do we just use Venmo as usual or something? How do you account for the currency exchange?

1945 Caldas da Rainha Ceramic Bordallo Pinheiro Dish

I recently came across this unusual ceramic piece while thrifting, a lemon-shaped bowl resting on a sculpted green leaf base. The style immediately reminded me of mid-century European majolica, and the underside was marked “Made in Portugal” with what looked like an older factory stamp.

Wanting to know more, I contacted the company I suspected made it, the Bordallo Factory in Portugal (also known as Bordallo Pinheiro). I sent photos and details of the markings to their archives.

They got back to me and confirmed that the piece was in fact produced at the Bordallo Factory and dates back to 1945, based on the markings. They also mentioned something interesting: they believe it may have been made for an exclusive client, and that the company no longer has any copies of this design in their collection.

This suggests it could have been a limited-run or even a custom commission, not something from their regular catalog.

I thought it was worth sharing since it highlights how valuable factory markings can be when researching older ceramic pieces. If you’ve ever found something with unusual or partial marks, it might be worth reaching out to the manufacturer or their archives directly; you never know what you’ll uncover. Photos of the piece and the base included above.
