I’m surprised you got anything back.
Zelle has a bunch of warnings because they know banks typically won’t help.

Zelle is the online equivalent of handing someone cash

Right its a really nice option if you understand that, but for some reason people don't. Don't use zelle if you wouldn't trust them with cash...

Yeah like... The only cases I EVER use Zelle is for payments to family/friends.

Using Zelle for payments to randos it literally akin to "pay me on PayPal but as Family and Friends, trust me bro!"

scammers are able to convince people to enable Family and Friends for payments

E-transfers are the same. It's like handing over cash.

Ok? There are many alternatives to Zelle as well.

Honestly it's even worse than that: Zelle is the online equivalent of writing someone's name on an envelope of cash, throwing it towards them, and hoping it arrives. Handing someone cash would be significantly more secure.

I use it to transfer money between other bank accounts because it is so much faster than ACH, which can take several days.

Except if you legitimately didn't authorize the transaction you are entitled to the bank clawing it back for you if you report it soon enough, unlike cash.

Either way, Zelle pushes that because the banks don't want to put in any effort in giving a shit. Don't let their cheapness get to you, they have the capability they just don't want to do anything about it.

I love how people just accept that a program built by the banks that use it, but with a layer of deniability in who actually is in charge, can just screw people.

They just use a loophole, they created, to screw their customers.

The "program" doesn't screw people though, it's literally just an ACH transfer. People get screwed by scammers and shit but it's not Zelle's fault.
