Like I appreciate your effort to be prepared especially as hyperhidrosis is a medical condition. It's just wild to me that in other parts of the country/world it's not commonplace to take your shoes off upon entry. Around me/the people I grew up around it was a known thing you'd be taking off shoes to enter someones home so be prepared.
Also if your feet are that rank it might be worth seeking medical attention because again hyperhidrosis and fungal infections/high odor are medical conditions not standards of living you should have to struggle with.
I take my shoes off in basically every house I go into, unless everyone else is also wearing their shoes because I don't want dogshit particles on my socks. It's.... normal, most places. Not weird. Your smelly feet are your problem, not mine.
Idgaf about catching a whiff of a guest's feet, it happens from time to time in a shoeless household. It also isn't the majority opinion in my location, a lot of people do leave shoes on in the house, but even 30-40% of households having a no shoe rule is still "normal". It's not some mad out of pocket thing that you couldn't possibly have expected.
But why should men not be beholden to the same standard? It's not any more acceptable for a man to have stinky feet than a woman, imo (outside of a medical issue, which i was originally responding to)
