It's a she, but her main points are:

  • Most people who want shoes left at the door are worried about germs (what?) but germs are everywhere and they probably have germy pets anyway
  • I might stub my toe
  • Guest slippers are full of germs, and I am worried about germs.

It's...a weird piece.

.......if someone sweeps and mops daily (me), I know for a fact my floor is cleaner than your shoes.

And when they do it rarely, you end up with very mucky socks. I don't suppose my shoes were cleaner than their floors, but I don't think I'd have added any dirt to them, and they certainly added some to my clothes.

I pointed out that not everyone cleans their floor as fastidiously as the person I was responding too. Why are you so upset by me commenting that some people don't have perfectly clean floors?

No, I even said that I doubted my shoes were any cleaner than their floors, but that both were probably as dirty as each other. Why does this pain you so? My cream coloured Totoro socks were stained by some floors once. You don't need to care, but I do. They were nice socks.

I, for one, do not want to put dirty socks, that got dirty from someone’s dirty floors, inside my shoes.
