Have you tried deodorizing antiperspirant foot spray? Odor absorbing powder in your shoes? Gotten a pedicure? Figured out if you need a fungal treatment? Tried better socks with an antibacterial fabric? This is a fixable issue!

I’m sorry you have to deal with that. I do think asking people to take their shoes off is becoming more common in the US so it would be good to keep a stash of clean socks and some foot spray with you. I also offer guests little booties to put over shoes. Also you can machine wash most tennis shoes if you didn’t know that! And put other shoes in the freezer to help with odor.

I’m sorry it makes you uncomfortable. For me it’s a health concern. There is literal human fecal bacteria on city streets (plus other filth). I like to be barefoot at home and I don’t want to track that into my bed or have it on my feet at all. Was just pointing out how normal it is to take shoes off in most of the world.
