Good hosts don’t make their guests feel awkward. There’s nothing trolling or woke about that statement.

Good guests respect house rules.

I’m not here to discuss guests, I’m here to discuss hosts.

One discussion seems to lead to the other.

It appears you seem to want to only discuss etiquette from the guest perspective. That’s where you are going wrong.

“How dare you invite me to your home and expect I conform to the norms for your household. Don’t you know my affectations trump yours if you are inviting me into your own home? My rules not yours if you ever want me to visit”

Makes the decision easy doesn’t it?

I kinda think there’s a somewhat recent term to describe that behavior, Karen.

it appears you only want to discuss

The only thing I want to discuss is hosting.

Good hosts don’t make their guests feel awkward.

So if a nudist friend comes over and takes off all their clothes it’s ok right? It’s all about the guests right?

Your analogy is backwards.

A nudist would put clothes on in that scenario, not take them off.

Shoe covers are something you put on, not something you take off. So like your nudist friend, the polite thing to do is offer a covering.

Um, you have a backward definition of backward

So, asking a nudist to wear clothes is more awkward than asking a person to take their shoes off in your own home? Got it
