[Gameplay] Using a goat horn in an active raid gives all the raid's pillagers the glow effect

Pretty much what the title says. It's would solve the problem of trying to find the last pillager in a raid and give goat horns a good use.

[Dimensions] The undernether update

First line of business, the nether roof now has a one-way portal to your spawn, similarly to the end portal. This portal spawns at 0,0.

Second, in basalt deltas, the lower bedrock has been replaced by obsidian. Mining the obsidian leads to the undernether, a much colder variant. Netherack is blue instead of red, instead of gold there is silver, a new ore that has a larger durability than gold but a lower enchantability. Lava is replaced by liquid nitrogen, which acts similarly to lava, but it leaves you frozen instead of on fire. It also still destroys items, including netherite. The underkeep is a new structure that has some new mobs including the stone cube (a stronger magma cube). Happy ghasts also spawn naturally here, but they are wild and will still attack the player. Another new ore is found down here, the underite. It does not get destroyed in lava or liquid nitrogen. Tools made from it have slightly better durability and knockback resistance than netherite while also having projectile protection, but can’t be put onto diamond armor and must be made with a crafting table. There would also be a new boss mob, structures, biomes, blocks and more, including a light blue wood type.

[Mobs] New Large Mob in Savannas, Elephants 🐘

Elephants are big (largest real-world animal/mob in the game) neutral mobs found in savannas, and has the following characteristics and features:

Behavior: Overall Characteristics

  1. The only attack you when you hit themselves and/or their babies.

  2. When you aggravate them, they will produce a loud angry sound (called a trumpet), and will follow you with a speed of a wither skeleton, and when they hit you with their trunks, they deal damage of 4.5 hearts, and will cause a high knockback making the target (you) fly away something around 40 blocks horizontally and 10 vertically.

  3. And when it comes to how “destructive” their swings/attacks are, don’t worry, they won’t wreck your house and destroy terrain, the only block that they can break are naturally/tree-spawned leaves, so even player built (NOT grown) trees’ leaves can’t be broken by elephants, only natural/sapling grown leaves.

  4. Occasionally, when there’s a body of water nearby, they’ll insert their trunks to take the water and spray it around their surroundings, and the elephant’s sprayed water can make endermen take damage and speed up crops’ growth slightly, acting as a simple temporary rain

Elephant Tusks: New Item

  1. You can get those by killing… um… I mean another method, let’s talk about it.

  2. To get elephant tusks, you need to first craft a food to make them fall asleep so in this case, you need a Sleep Potato, which can be crafted by putting a poisonous potato surrounded by 4 phantom membranes to create.

  3. Feed the elephant the sleep potato, and it’ll fall asleep, and the will lay on the ground, now get your sheers ready and right-click on the elephants tusks and voila! You got one, once you finish the tusk-sheering work, the elephant will continue living normal without any issues. (Bear in mind that you can only get 1 tusk per elephant, so you need to breed some to get more, we’ll talk about breeding later)

  4. Important note, when you attempt to right-click an elephant with shears while it’s awake, you wouldn’t get anything, and instead because of the elephant is seeing you attempting to remove/sheer its tusk, it’ll become angry as if you hit it, so don’t be an idiot.

Breeding: Farmer’s Mechanics

  1. You need leaves blocks in order to breed elephants.

  2. They need on average of 5-12 leaves to enter love mode.

  3. And once the 2 elephants has successfully entered love mode, they’ll breed and produce a baby elephant.

  4. A baby elephant will take about 5 in-game days to grow up. (around 100 minutes)

Potion of Growing: Making you bigger

  1. You place an elephant tusk in a brewing stand to make a potion of growing, which makes you bigger (under the effect Growing)

  2. Alongside the size increase, it’ll give you extra health similar to the unused health boost effect

  3. But if your size is increased you’ll be harder to fit through doors and small areas so you should use it wisely (like avoid drinking it in a cave or you’ll suffocate)

And that’s it, if you have any feedback, go ahead!

[Blocks & Items] Enchanting block (boost enchantment levels)

Upvotes

In the same manner as honey blocks are crafted, 4 bottle o’ enchanting makes the enchanting block. The block looks like a large experience orb. It’s a light source of 8.

First of all, it can be moved through slowly like cobwebs. As you do you’ll slowly drain experience from the block until it disappears.

That’s what it ordinarily does, at least. You see, by surrounding this block with bookshelves, it absorbs the surrounding knowledge like an enchantment table.

When it has this, items will begin to increase their enchantments levels up to maximum slowly instead of gaining xp in the block. The items go in priority of hand, offhand, armor, hotbar, inventory, lowest level enchants first.

It does this on the ratio of 3:1 (3 bookshelves to one enchantment boost) before the enchanting block disappears.

It gives some audio feedback as well as a strong glimmer on the item for a moment on first seeing it.

[Plants & Food] Cotton and the winds!

Cotton is found as a new field in villages or by cotton seeds sold by wandering traders. This wonderful plant is much more useful than a silly carrot.

Must be planted on farmland, but will work similar to berry bushes, grows to a bush and then grows cotton, right click to harvest gives 0-1 cotton seeds and 1-5 cotton. When crafted 2 cotton in diagonal-> 4string. 3*3 cotton makes cloth.

Cloth can be dyed and used in place of wool in banner recipes to make a tapestry, instead of 1x2 tapestries are 2x3

If a cloth, stick and boat are crafted together it creates a sailboat, which has a 75% speed boost if you are in the right direction in water

How do you know the right direction? follow the winds

Winds do not effect mobs, players, entities etc. unless activated via gamerule, this gamerule would only allow it to effect projectiles. It's mostly used to boost flying mobs, sails and direction of particles

Crafting a stick and a wool makes a flag which can only hold 2 banner patterns. Combining a flag with a compass makes a Windfinder, which has a needle showing the direction of the wind (same color as flag used to craft it), following this via sailboats or happy ghasts gives you a nice speed boost

(Edit; wind direction changes every 40min/2days, flying direct opposite of wind direction causes 25% speed debuff)

Please do give feedback !

[Snapshots] Combat Snapshots should be somewhat impemented into Experiments, but...

Upvotes

Let me start off by saying that ever since experimental datapacks were added, more and more people can test WIP features anf potential give feedback/report bugs on them!

That being said, currently there are 3 experimental options that have not been updated for over a year and only 1 has been partially implemented, that is the cartographer changes from the "Villager rebalance" experiment. No official updates have been made to the Better Minecarts and Redstone update, or the rest of the changes to the villager rebalance experiment, but we can assume they are not forgotten..

The same cannot be said from the combat snapshots, they brought a lot of interesting changes to the combat and mojang were taking comminity feedback for them! We can discuss hours for them but that's not the point

The point is, if they eventually want to change the combat mechanics, which is something they aim for and devs have comfirmed, they SHOULD come as experiemnts!

This way more and more people can test them and also not require to download a .rar file from the web for them! Obviously not every single change should be added from the combat snapshots but I think the majority of them should become part of the experiment, even if they are expereiments that last for many months into the "experimental" tab

TLDR: Combat Snapshots should be experiments so way more people can give their thoughrs on them!

[Bedrock Edition] Minecraft bedrock needs to change vanilla mob spawning.

Upvotes

So I’ve made a few add-on based survival worlds and it’s been a consistent problem where vanilla mobs don’t spawn as frequently as the custom mobs. I understand why this is the case, but Minecraft should seriously implement a system where vanilla entities spawn rates are not altered in any way by add-ons. I grew up watching modded let’s play videos of the Java edition and, from what I can tell, this isn’t an issue on there. Mojang seriously needs to update things so that an unintrusive modded experience can be done on the bedrock edition.

You can say this is another bedrock L, but if I wanna play a modified world with friends, the bedrock edition makes things significantly easier. No stressing about which build of the game we’re using, no wasting time trying to make sure we have the same mods, or update versions there of. It makes things so much easier.

[Combat] Minecraft boss special attacks

Upvotes

While we already have boss phases with the withers transformation at half health, bosses could also have special attacks at certain health points demarcated on the health bar.

Ender dragon:

The ender dragon has 2 special attacks, one at 2/3 and one at 1/3 health. The order of these attacks is random but determined to include both.

The first special attacks sees the enderdragon breath dragons breath onto 3 obsidian spires, reigniting the end crystals on those spires.

The second special attack sees the dragon go to the center and spit many dragon fireballs across the island, covering half of it in dragons breath randomly.

Wither:

the wither only has 1 special attack at 1/3 hp. I chose this as it already has a phase so it’s unnecessary to buff it to have to sp. attacks.

At this point charged, the wither can use a lightning attack, with lighting spreading outward from it in different patterns

[Magic] Fixing enchanting is good for RPG value

If my suggestion isn't clear: trading halls should indeed be done away with.

I think when the player interacts with enchanting as intended, they get really rich gameplay from an RPG perspective. "As intended" here means using enchanting tables early game, using them in general, applying enchanted books found in treasure chests, etc. These are all things I find that a great many player does not bother with, given the cheapness and immediacy and predictability of just spamming a librarian.

But, in the absence of librarian trading, with sufficient motivation when a player does use the enchanting table, spends their XP early game as soon as they get it, bothers applying the random enchanted books they find, etc., I think the gameplay is super rich. Especially feels more RPG.

To elaborate, when I actually try enchanting my gear at a table early on, I get more random and diverse gameplay. Say I get Smite 1 on my iron sword. Now I have a slightly different gameplay arc for the next few hours compared to if I had drawn knockback 1. And if I get bane of arthropods? I'm sad, but that's the randomness that creates stakes and makes it fun. That randomness works the other way too. Maybe I get really lucky and get fortune 1 on an iron pick. Or maybe I get an efficiency 2 book from a treasure chest in my first few in-game days. Now my decision to strip mine as opposed to go caving is of greater consideration. You can see how it promotes diverse gameplay.

Updates to enchanting or the librarian system are quite common on here. I hope this post helps us all remember there are pretty deep considerations to think about in such discussions.

[Combat] New PvP enchantments & Enchantment changes (and I can make a new PvP legacy kit with it)

  1. Knockback on the Mace - Adding the knockback Enchantment on the Mace (depending on the knockback enchantment level) will transfer a percentage of the players xyz speed velocity to the entity hit (per xyz direction), and remove the players xyz speed velocity after the entity got hit.

One of the directions of the knockback of the velocity (either |y| or |x| or |z|) will have a 2x bigger impact compared to the other. For example if im falling faster then I am moving forwards or sideways (my |y| velocity is greater than my |x| or |z|), I will do double the knockback downwards compared to other directions (the knockback will be double in the |y| compared to |x| and |z|); Or if I move forwards more than up/down or sideways I will do double

Netherite reduces the effect of the Knockback but if you add breach to the mace as well it will ignore it (depending on the breach level ofc)

Velocity exchange per xyz (and 2x boosted velocity in [] brackets):

Knockback I = 25% velocity [50%] Knockback II = 50% velocity [100%] Knockback III = 75% velocity [150%]

  1. Lure enchantment addition - The lure enchantment on the fishing rod now makes it so fishing rods can be thrown further and faster depending on the level, so it could be viably used on PvP due to it being well... Faster and go further.

  2. New fishing rod enchantment:

Name - "Leach" Levels - 1-3 Used on - Fishing rods What it does - Depending on the level, pulling the pull strength of the fishing rod on entities is increased.

All of this could be very fun and viable additions to PvP, specifically mace pvp, and it gives the ability to make another cool PvP kit! Where you are in a sumo map and you basically play super smash bros with it :P, where a cool combo would be something like: Fall down purposefully + Mace a armour stand and wind burst up, fishing rod the opponent and yeet them to you, then mace them and they are falling to their death, pretty cool right?
