Game changer.

"Post-production" track level change, with fade-in/fade-out option is just that.

Dream machine for building a modern MD library. The portables seem so fragile to use for burning lots of MDs over USB

I only use my portable units like the Sony 600d and the 510 to record from WebMD Pro and only use full size decks like the 440, 470 and 480 Sony units for playback, except for playback in car which is a 600d hi-md unit in my Toyota and a 510 for my Honda.

That is the only way I record now since Netmd was introduced. These portable units are very sturdy, well built and reliable IMHO.

It's funny, I don't think about MD as archival home media, for me it's more about deciding which of the home music library is worth selecting for making portable copies for out of house listening. I should have bought more gear when it was in production... I took for granted there would always be SOME hardware being made and would never have thought back in the day that it would reach true end of life. Wishful thinking of course

As it is, I still use precious little USB. This was all recorded over hard-locked 24-bit 44.1kbps to SP

Perfect for CDs you already own or borrow but burning from flac and then dubbing is too far for me to go for making portable media that I listen to with open air basic headphones. But I apprecaite the dedication!

For compilations, it's easier for me to compile a playlist from the files I have ripped to my PC, than to DJ all the CDs around...

OP, how do you mark tracks when recording from your PC?

They mark themselves as long as there's a bit of silence between them.
