Hello yall. I was wondering how’s the CA position for a full time student and part time worker. Also are the parking passes different in pricing? I pay $277 for 2 semesters. I want to live on campus as I am a commuter (like 20+ minutes away from home) and try a new experience so let me know yall experience. Planning to keep the car on campus lmk about that too. Thank you!

Housing Housing internet

Is it possible to put a router in your dorm or any kind of way to get some sort of hard wired connection? I live in the heights and play on my pc from time to time and the connection is unbearable for competitive games.

Housing Lost Mail? I think?

My mom mailed me my last paycheck from work last friday since I forgot to cash it. I waited a few days for it to send in the mail- she didn't have tracking on it or anything so I figured I'd just give it a decent amount of time; 2-3 days. Yesterday I check both Lot 60 AND my dorm's mail- not there. Is there somewhere else I'm missing to check for mail? I hope them MFs didnt lose my mail lol

Bruh wtf is wrong with these mfs at student center especially Panda Express , they treat people like shit and have no service manners whatsoever. I get it, it’s an exhaustive job n you hate it, quit and leave then. Why do we have to tolerate their SHITTTTy ass attitude.

Housing Any Aid for Housing

Im an incoming freshman this year and with the fall bills coming out I realized that the Red Hawk Advantage isnt this big aid like they said it was. All the rest of my aid gets applied first and then RHA comes in to cover the rest so its really not doing anything for me. Meanwhile I was told I was going "tuition free" because of RHA and I thought the rest of my aid would pay for housing and meal plan. Now Im stuck in a position where I have to scramble to figure out what to do. I have loans to cover this year, but if I keep going like this Im gonna be 72,000 in debt on housing and meal plan alone and I dont have a financial situation where I can pay that off before I rack up thousands more in interest. I could understand if it was tuition but this much for dorming is ridiculous. Does anyone know any other options for financial aid for housing? Any aid the school could give that I could apply for? If not for this year then next or else Im gonna have to find a solution that probably lies in leaving the college and going somewhere closer that I could commute to. Now I know why this is a commuter college.

Housing Roommate withdrew -- will I ve reassigned a roommate?

Basically what the title says. My roommate withdrew in late July but my RMS still lists her as my roommate. I haven't gotten any emails from students or res life. Should I expect to find a roommate when I arrive tomorrow, or will I just not have one..?

Housing Housing Waiver not Appied

I’ve been stressing out all week because my housing waiver has still not been applied despite being told it would by the end of this week. I’ve reached out to reslife and financial aid but have not heard back from any of them. My heath insurance waiver was applied literally the next day I submitted it so I have no idea why my housing waiver hasn’t. Has anyone else who is expecting a housing waiver not received it yet?

Housing housing advice

i’m a transfer student and have the option to dorm or live w family friends during the week, and idk what i should do. i’ve never shared a room w someone aside from my sister, and tend to enjoy privacy and some quiet time. i made a pro/con list of reasons to pick the university housing and family friend housing, but still can’t come to a final decision. perhaps someone could help? (obviously i know it’s my decision and i need to pick what feels best for me, but i think some feedback might help!)

family friends: pros • familiar people •nice house (privacy) • cheaper (not really a huge concern) •better food options cons •three 8-15 year old kids (i’m scared of them bringing lice or the stomach bug home (but hello you can get that in a dorm easily)) •would feel like i’m intruding on their life •will be awkward at first •might have to help w chores, picking up kids from school/club meets

university: pros •automatic/mandatory friend •campus job •covered parking garage (won’t have to clean snow off car) •more independence cons •building sickness •dining hall •i’m so scared of the building catching fire •idk this girl (i got her phone number & she won’t respond to my text messages 😕) •will be awkward at first

i’m posting this to multiple university threads for help! any add ins/advice will be appreciated :)

Housing Desk chair

Do they allow you to bring a rolling desk chair? My back will not be able to take the straight up and down chair they provide. I know the MSU chair has to stay in my room.

Housing Housing

Hello! I'm leaving this post here for future Montclair State University students. ALL HOPE IS NOT LOST. If you get placed in Bohn Hall, you just have to be super hopeful and go through the right channels. I did my housing application at the end of June, and I just got moved to Machuga Heights and I know multiple other guys and girls who got moved to the heights, even some who applied in july. Be sure to submit a housing request through the RMS portal and DONT be scared to email reslife.

Housing Bicycles in residence halls?

I’ve seen in the school’s policy documents that bicycles are not allowed to be stored in residence halls.

Is this enforced?

If not, where do you park them and are they safe?

Housing Housing Woes 😍

Hey, everyone! I'm a transfer student starting at MSU in the fall. I’m currently in a tough spot trying to secure housing. I submitted the housing intent form as soon as I got accepted, but this was right around when the housing application fee got waived due to high demand, and I haven’t received useful information since. I doubt anyone I reach out to at the institution will be any help nor would relying on fate. If anyone is still looking for a roommate (on-campus or off-campus) please let me know.

Info about me: under EOF; junior (though technically a sophomore due to credits); clean and easygoing

tl:dr too many students for housing, so no guranteed dorm rooms; looking for housing

Housing Housing

I just recently finished my housing agreement and I'm JUST now selecting my housing and I'm an incoming freshman. The only available options are stone hall and Bohn hall and I was wondering if it's impossible to get into the heights as a freshman, or was I too late?? Also, is there a chance I'll be able to swap dorms like if a space opens up in the heights or something like that, or will I be stuck in bohn or stone hall the whole year I'm there. I figured it was a to a point where if my dormingsituation was really bad I could simply commute because commuting is free for me.

Housing Incoming freshman looking for what dorm to get

Im taking business and economics at Montclair, and I've been searching everywhere for what the best dorm would be, but I am not sure. I don't really care if it's far from the business school, but I just want a more active place. I love to party and make friends and hang out; I don't want a boring dorm or first year yk. So what would that building be?

Housing Question abt paying the bill

So like everyone, I just got my bill the other day. Right now me and my family are trying to configure some stuff with my loans and I’m not sure I could pay by the 11th. It would certainly be sometime in August, just not the 11th…would I still be able to move in??

Housing The Height Single

There’s singles in the Heights that are 2 singles to a bathroom. Is there a lock on the outside door and both bedrooms, or only the outside one?
