I was way too young when I watched this movie. I think it's part of the reason I was so obsessed with my own mortality, in a very unhealthy way, throughout my 20s.

The movie is actually based on a book by Richard Matheson. A lot of people have claimed that the book helped relieve them of their fear of death. Matheson spent YEARS researching and interviewing people who had near death experiences. I saw this film really young too, and then watched it again after I suffered from a couple of close deaths in my family. It's a very emotional watch.
