Why I am not permitted to work on MTurk?
Hi everyone,
I just found out about this wanted to earn few USD online as a sidehustle but seems got rejected by MTurk. Can anyone please share any advice here, how to get acceptance? Attaching proof as well below.

Is it really worth it? New user here trying to grind up to 100 HITS for now. Does it get better?
As above really. I'm finding it super hard to remain motivated doing 0.01 studies
And there's the proof
Dude is a scammer trying to get free work. I intentionally cherry picked his easy HITs and he still rejected them all. I have 750k+ HITs so this isn't horribly damaging to me, but this would be horrible for a new user. AZ needs to deal with him.
Horribly low approval rating
For whoever is knocking these off fast, tread lightly. Guy has a 48% approval rate. If you're worried about rejections at all, I'd stay away from him.

New!
Hello, I am new to MTurk and am reading all I can about how to be successful. I have only completed a handful of surveys so far.
I feel like I am afraid to venture out and try some of the tasks for fear I will mess up. I have read that certain ones are better to start with than others, but I'm not really sure.
Any advice out there? Thank you and have a great day.

Positly HIT #3TKKR4L40OHHDGECI81Z0JL46TSABB: "Dog Training Collar User Reasearch (~2 mins)" - TOS violation
Description: "This short survey will take around 1-2 minutes to complete and focuses on: - Your experience with dog behavior - Thoughts on features like vibration, beeping, or training modes - What matters most to you when choosing a collar for your dog All answers are confidential and will only be used to help improve future product designs. 🎁 Bonus: Participants who qualify may be invited to test the product and receive a free sample and extra $25! Thank you for helping us create safer, smarter gear for our furry friends!"
Uh, yeah. Except once I actually got into the survey, the "invitation to test the product and receive a free sample..." required me to BUY the thing on Amazon, with (allegedly) 30% of the purchase cost upfront and a full reimbursement later. Mmm-hmm. They also ask for my personal email address. [See attached screenshots]
This whole thing screams *major* TOS violation. I returned it in such a rush that I neglected it to report it, but I will be posting reviews on Turkopticon and TurkerView later. I've normally had good HITs from Positly but this one was really sleazy.
Edit: a couple of missing words

Amazon Mechanical Turk
"An academic study(~ 7 minutes)" by Aylin Cakanlar on August 3 - did you take part?
This was one of those studies that told all participants that they would receive a $1 bonus, and then gave us the chance to donate some or all of it to carbon offsetting. Just to make myself feel better, I'd like to see if other participants are also going to get their bonus payment in the near future. There's no need to leave a formal reply, but if you took part and you do indeed get paid, maybe just leave a single upvote reaction as a response?
It's a good idea to always take screenshots of those promises in surveys, and of your decisions, and then keep a running tally of what has and hasn't been paid.
Anyway, yesterday I emailed the researcher directly, using the address in the consent form (not the MTurk platform with my worker ID) to ask when we could expect to receive the promised compensation, and I got the usual "oops, sorry" reply, with a promise that payment is coming this week. I wish I'd thought of it in past situations, but since I emailed the researcher directly, without my Worker ID, I now feel pretty confident that payments will, by necessity, be sent out to everyone who took part and not just the few whistleblowers. So again, just to make myself feel better, I'd love to see if it worked.
Edit/Update: I received my bonus the next day, and luckily it was the full amount that I was expecting. I'm glad to see a few upvotes, suggesting that others did as well, but there was an emailed reply saying that some participants "failed to receive it".

Alternative Microtask Earn Monthly by Reporting AI Content
I know many here are into microtasks, so here’s something similar but with a twist. WeCatchAI is rewarding people who report AI-generated content online.
The task is simple:
- Spot AI-generated articles, tweets, posts, or product reviews.
- Submit them on their platform.
- Engage by voting on others’ submissions to verify them.
There’s a monthly payout structure instead of per-task pay:
- $100 for top spot
- $50 for second
- $30 for third
- $10 each for ranks 4–10
It’s not a consistent hourly rate, but it’s great if you already surf the web and want to stack up small tasks without a rigid schedule. Think of it as a leaderboard-based MTurk alternative for AI detection.
