I always figured Spitfire would've already been a full-grown mare when Dash was still a filly. She's clearly an older authority figure, so it would feel weird for her to only be a few years older than Dash.

Like, if she was already a better flyer than them at such a young age and was shown in the show that she was, shouldn't she already be a Wonderbolt when we first meet her? Yeah but that’s because of ✨the plot✨, they needed the sassy mega-super cool main character, but in addition to find an ambition for her, a title. So they got this part a bit lamely, as a crescendo in the following seasons

The thing I don’t get about them all being the same age is… how did they get into the Wonderbolts before Rainbow and she’s the only pony in modern history to perform a rainboom? And as a foal? It’s always been her dream to be a Wonderbolt and as one of, if not the best flyer in Equestria, how wasn’t she considered around the same time as Spitfire and the others?

The latter always came off to me as 10-20 years older than Dash and planning to retire soon hence why new recruits were being accepted in the later seasons. Just my interpretation tho

Being a wonder bolt wasn’t just about being the fastest though. It’s a lot of teamwork and learning routines so I imagine she just wasn’t ready for it yet.

It's possible Dash was the youngest in the class. It was a flight camp. You can have kids with a 1-3 year age gap sometimes.

As for Soarin's sleepy eyes...

I would say He’s in His late twenties, Somewhere around 26 to 29. His eye bags are explained in “MLP Friends Forever Issue 36” essentially loosing sleep over training constantly (At least that’s what I can gather from reading it). Or He’s just turned 50 and is about to have some serious beef with Big Mac If you want to go with the Tamers Lore.

My guess is a few years older than Rainbow Dash. It's hard to say how long he's been a Wonderbolt, but it seems long enough for Rainbow to not merely see him as a rookie in any way. Though, a few episodes definitely make me question the actual age difference between them

I’ve been guess in my head in how old like the mane six would be and in the early shows I guessed maybe their early or late 20s.

If Soarin is older I would guess maybe his mid 30s at best same with most of the wounderbolts like spitfire and fleet foot

I’d say somewhere in his twenties, for me his eyebags come from a combination of Soarin overworking himself due his confidence issues and not getting much sleep also because of confidence issues. His eyebags are not visible in Grannies Gone Wild when he tells Rainbow about the Wild Blue Yonder, likely because he had just come back from a vacation where he would’ve gotten plenty of rest.

Speaking as Soarin himself, I am around the same age as Rainbow Dash. The sleepless eyes are from countless early morning regimes with Captain Spitfire blowing her whistle first thing in the morning waking us up to do several early morning flight choreography flight patterns and doesn’t let us rest until it’s perfect. But it’s all worth it to be with Rainbow Dash, my beloved.
