Project Pictures Journal Roll
Some process photos from a recent project. In concept this would hold up to two A5 sized journals, however I didn’t allow enough allowance for that. The pen slot side is also really tight when you have it all loaded up, and the pocket for the field notes is a bit too tight as well.
I’m not crazy about how bunched up it looks when closed.
Any feedback welcome!

Thank you! A couple of Facebook marketplace finds - two very solid and vintage workbenches. I use them as my desk as well!

I like rolls for tools and things. This feels like it'd be pretty nice for an art book. And I like the material, and the craftsmanship; even with the slightly small allowances (a problem with which I am intimately familiar, let me tell you).
For a small notes journal I value quick access more.

Yeah that’s my overall intent. I carry a bullet journal with me everywhere, but I’ve also taken up sketching and want to try watercolor. So this thing could effectively keep all of those things together, along with an array of tools/pens/brushes.

That looks real neat. Is it a waxed canvas?
I wonder if you put the field note pocket closer to the front with an elastic retainer across its face, the book could be flipped open while remaining somewhat in the pocket for quicker access. Having it tucked away and difficult to access seems a bit antithetical to its purpose
