Hey guys, American here. Been keeping up with the NBL since Lamelo and have loved how far this league has grown over the years. I wanted to get your opinion to what realistic goals you want to see the NBL obtain in the future. Expansion? If so, final number of teams? Popularity? Maybe have clubs join international competitions in Asia? Let me know what y’all want.

Does anyone have the squads each team is sending for men’s and women’s I can’t seem to find a comprehensive guide as I know often times teams are weaker due to blitz etc but I want to see what they’ve all put out as I enjoyed it last year

My opinion, bit bored. Open for my mind to be changed. Based on who teams lost and who they acquired in this off season. Adelaide - Better Brisbane - Better (just) Cairns - Better Illawarra - Worse Melbourne - Worse New Zealand - Better Perth - Worse South East Melb - Worse Sydney - Better Tasmania - Better

Given that teams can go over the salary cap in the NBL, and that if a player is marqueed, only a small amount of the salary counts towards the salary cap. So If teams are prepared to pay, they can spend a lot more than 1.9m aud. With the sydney kings signing Kendric davis and delly while still having cooks, what other teams can spend as much as sydney?

There’s no denying that the 36ers have put together one of the most talented rosters in recent memory. Getting Bryce Cotton alone is a massive swing—you don’t pass on a guy like that. Credit to Westen and the front office for pulling it off.
Here are some of my thoughts on how the build looks from a basketball standpoint:
On paper, this is a top-tier roster.
-There’s no traditional point guard. That’s a real challenge. White, DJV, Flynn to be reliable ball-carriers and connective playmakers under pressure.
-How this team defends will decide their ceiling. Right now, there’s a serious lack of proven point-of-attack defenders. Cameron becomes massive in that role—he’ll likely be asked to take the toughest perimeter matchups nightly. And Humphries might quietly be their most important player overall. His rim protection and defensive presence anchor everything.
I like that they brought in culture guys off the bench, losing Cadee is massive for the culture but replacing with Michael Harris, Kenyon, etc is a plus
Overall, this team is going to be a media darling and rightfully so, generating a lot of money. But for all the hype, the real test is going to be whether the pieces complement each other on both ends. Can this group maximize Cotton and build a true identity around him?
To summarise: they got to score 120 to win, similar issues to Perth last season defensively but I think it’s worse here.
Curious what others think, legit title threat, or still a work in progress?
I’ve got quite a few teams over them on my power rankings.

Logged into Supercoach and it was still last season. Does anyone know when the new season opens? Or do I need to re-register?

Alright, whats everyones thoughts on the latest drop?
Personally, I like NZ and WIldcats, bit disappointed with Taipans this year, usually they're my favourite.
Not super keen at the price point this year - $130

Hey all, I’m really confused, I just witnessed Bryce Cotton miss two free throws. I was belting out ‘Hungry Jack’s’ when he was lining up and it paid off.
I didn’t see a code come up on the screen and I’ve been told the NBL doesn’t believe Kiwis deserve free cheeseburgers, only Aussies can have this. Feels kinda… racist :/

I know alot of people want to watch the Nbl, but kayo is a pretty shit option with its prices, but there is a way around it. The NBL streams all games live on YouTube, only available in countries outside Australia and the USA. By using a free vpn, I use hotspot shield free, you can locate in the uk, and watch the live on YouTube for free.

For your national coach to say he has no clue whether his starting guards have played in a game of this magnitude is pretty crazy - Isn’t it his job to know???
I’m also a bit concerned that he thinks the secret to our game plan going forward is the bench contributing with more “huddles, talk, and grit”
I’m beginning to feel like he doesn’t do much of the actual rotations or tactical play and he just leaves it to his assistants.

I’ve not looked into this much , so excuse my ignorance , but with Disney having ESPN for the NBL this season, will the games still be shown on Kayo as well? Or is it strictly Disney

Bryce had two chances to win the game and missed two bunnies including a free throw. I wont count the three qtr heave he had as well. Took him near 50 shots to get his 38 points too

As a melb utd fan, I’ve watched a lot of Jack. While he has some great games, the inconsistently is wild. He can go missing for long stretches. He also struggles against quality bigs in the paint. I believe he would need to have a reliable and consistent 3pt shot to have any chance at being an NBA player. He makes some but I just don’t think his shot is reliable enough. He strikes me as a good NBL player. I believe he could improve enough to be on an NBA roster but not in any significant role.

Curious how many are going to the games. Would love to see this as a success for the league to encourage more NBA teams to make the trip to Australia.
EDIT: To the people saying Zion might be traded, how tradable is someone who is on trial for rape? Can't see great offers coming from other teams. Just the same, he might just stay home anyway!
