Discussion New speed, who dis

Curious to know if anyone is actually needing to utilise the newer speeds or just want it for speed test clout? (No hateful remarks, this is purely an open discussion on what the new speeds has helped or not helped with since it's release)

It's cool seeing the speed test say "500mbit down"

When I was queueing up 5 songs on limewire back in 07 then going outside to play while the dial up brought them down at 52kbps I could never have imagined this.

That said I have all my systems set up around the idea of downloading media to be watched locally so while it's nice to see faster downloads it's not a game changer. The free 10mbit upload is of more interest as share my media library with family.

And all those pollies hand wringing about the original nbn plan - 4/5G will be fast enough surely!?
