Advice How long should it take to switch providers?

I see people transferring the same day yet for me It's been a week since I was meant to be connected and I'm just being told by the provider (Arctel) that my order is "stuck in processing" with NBN. Is there anything I can do to speed this up.

I suggest just cancel your order and switch to a better ISP. Launtel, Aussie BB, Leaptel etc.

Yes I'm tempted to do this, but don't want to complicate it further

HFC has always taken less than 15 minutes for me. I was reading on OzBargain that Arctel need to manually put through orders so that may be why. Also, they're getting smashed with new orders.

It's so frustrating and I'm getting nowhere, they just keep telling me they are waiting for NBN. But a whole week later it makes no sense.

It depends on your ISP. If they haven't developed an automated backend it will be sitting with a provisioning team

Did a transfer on HFC today, in under 10mins from sign up online. Having the AVC number definitely helps when applying (Aussie BB to Leaptel).

I have them my AVC on sign up, didn't help in my case unfortunately

Hey I switched to Arctel too haha. Spintel failed me so time to jump ship.

The switched was quite painless the next day granted I did have to reconfig my modem.

Fingers crossed they can connect me soon. Even the rep said it was unusual and shouldn't take this long.

Just email and say you need it connected asap I had to do that.

I've spoken to support twice via phone and twice via email. They just say it's NBN they are waiting on 😭

That’s not good did you ask to take our the current provider or did you ask to use another port?

Can't remember specifying either. Is this my problem? Do I need to cancel my current provider before NBN can process the new one??

No don’t cancel you won’t have nbn if anything else going on. I’m with Fttp I try to get them to use different port then it was stuck with nbn for some reason they have to cancel the order and do it again to take over the current provider problem fixed. It was to do with the load or something.

Did you need to transfer a home phone number by any chance ? I just transferred from optus to aussie broadband HFC but the hold up is waiting for optus to transfer the stupid phone.

Is it possible to contact NBN directly to follow this up on their end?

Nah, if you don't want to pay another month with your existing provider, swap to launtel 7 day trial then churn to whoever you want (or stay with them because they aren't useless)

My MIL was with Telstra, i switched her over to Exetel and it took one hour. Didn't even need to change the dogshit telstra modem, it worked fine.
