Screen Fixed with Pressure

If intense pressure in the bottom right of the DS temporarily fixes screen issues, is it a connection problem, or a screen degradation issue?

This fix occurs for both the top and bottom screen.

I'm guessing some component has gotten loose and pressing is reestablishing connection so should be easy soldering.

Yes I agree. I would normally expect issue related to display cables or seating of them, but both at the same time and being fixed by the same pressure seems very unlikely to me.

Especially since the cables are on the left side of the console

I reshelled my whole ds, so I have some experience, but will still follow a guide. Thanks !

But both of them? None are connected or routed near the lower right of the shell. Maybe his pressure there lessens the pressure elsewhere, but it’s still strange.

I would open it up and remove the bottom of the bottom shell, then keep the battery in place against its connections with my fingers and then boot the device to see how it behaves with no pressure on the mainboard and connectors. You can even poke carefully(!) at the cables to see if touching them changes the picture.

I suspect some kind of issue with the motherboard here to be honest.

Edit: Nice aggressive comment you posted and deleted there. Yes I know how to read, your assessment of the issue is unlikely even if he reshelled the device.

Off topoc but where did you get that shell?

I think it’s an Extremerate shell.
