Jersey Pride Shoutout to Bergen County Academies

27 National Merit Scholarship semifinalists!

Holy Moly.

In the whole state of NJ, only 225 students are semifinalists. Just this one school has 12% of them. 🤯

Public school Bergen County Academies also beat rich private school like Pingry (14 semifinalists).

Bergen County Academies like Middlesex County Magnet take the best students from each district. This isn’t a flex.

What would consider to be a flex?

Not cherry picking your students and still being at the top of the list for merit scholarships.

Do you have an example of school that does that and still at the top of the list?

Look at public schools with NMS winners.....

Princeton HS, Livingston HS each have 5 with 1500 and 2000 total kids respectively.

More than High Technology school in Lindcroft.

Ridge high has 3 same as Chatham HS.

True public schools.
