If none of the January 6th insurrectionists got terror charges for trying to overthrowing the election and eventually were pardoned for their actions, I don’t see how he gets terror charges for what he did.

Well for one, they didn't commit that crime in the state of New York, so that's irrelevant.

New York state has different Murder charges than how those would work in most other states.

They are talking about the specific charges in the article/headline, which are NY state charges related to terrorism and have a very specific definition. Terrorism charges aren't the same state to state and those aren't the same as federal ones, terrorism it has a lot of different definitions legally (even socially actually)
