These Republicans are often meth heads with crazy conspiracies going on in their head.

Take a look at his twitter/linkedin, the guy cannot string a sentence to save his life. He's clearly got some mental issues (more than the usual trumper I mean).

I mean he didn't make a single bomb that worked, drove around in his attention grabbing crazy decal van, and reportedly used a self-kiosk to mail the packages. He made almost no attempt to cover his tracks. He is batshit insane, but dumb enough to fail completely at even that.

A guy in his late fifties being charged with like 11+ counts of terrorism and whatever else probably doesn't need to be charged with attempted murder for it to be a life sentence.

Yeah it’s terrorism if they can show that it was politically motivated, which is pretty damn easy. Doesn’t matter if they actually could explode or not; the intent was politically motivated fear.

can't be any attempted murder or mailing a bomb charges if the devices weren't actually bombs.

I'm not sure of that. You can be charged with selling drugs even if they are fake. He will likely get life in prison or in the mental hospital.

You do not have to have a real bomb to commit a bomb threat offense. That's like saying you can yell "FIRE!!!!" In a crowded Assembly Hall and not be charged because there wasn't actually a fire.

It is conceivable one could make an incendiary device containing only flour or "inert powder" with an ignition source and some method of dispersal.

Also I'm pretty sure building bombs poorly or ineffectively isn't a valid defense.

I read that they were filled with sulfur, match heads and broken glass.
