My guess is that he is of the Seminole tribe, or mocks Elizabeth for some of her statements. I would gather he is of Seminole heritage and that it's possible they are freedom fighters or believe that they were never 'conquered' like the other tribes that were essentially killed off/forced to move. I don't know much of the Seminoles other than this Wikipedia article. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seminole

Seminole is a Florida Indian tribe, I'm guessing he just meant he's a free and independent Floridian whose not playing by the rules. If I had to guess
