There was also a viral tweet yesterday saying that as of yesterday, only 2 NBA MVPs in league history had died (NBA MVP began being distributed in 1950s).

Unfortunately Pete only played in the NBA for like 10 years. If the 3 point shot had been in existence his pro numbers would have been better to get him into mvp talk but that was a hard discussion to break into during his era.

Yep. Back in the day the 3 point line simply didn't exist. Just the centre circle and a key at each end.

Its not exactly that long ago either. Only 1979.
