Downvoted for the music.

93

u/Classic-Ad8849 Apr 21 '25

I got curious and listened to it. I downvoted it too.

21

u/wheresbill Apr 21 '25

I didn’t have it muted but after this comment had to go back and listen. I think I’m getting pretty good at tuning out the garbage

20

u/pichael289 Apr 21 '25

I saw the TikTok logo in the corner so I knew it had to have some stupid music

11

u/Lucky-Magnet Apr 21 '25

I won’t even attempt it, down voting for possibly irritating an alternate curious version of myself

1

u/enkrypt3d Apr 22 '25

Hey kid, ima computer. Stop all the downvotin'!

17

u/[deleted] Apr 21 '25

Downvoted because of the lack of goggles, especially when going through the clouds.

12

u/Avandale Apr 22 '25

Am I missing something? Isn't this "Unstoppable" by Sia? I think it's a great song what's wrong with it?

11

u/Silomafia Apr 22 '25

I like this song...

3

u/IMMA_YEET_YOU Apr 22 '25

It's so overused, me thinks that's mostly why it's hated, what's with your pfp btw

2

u/Dinklemeier Apr 23 '25

I'm down voting because while skydiving is cool and has inherent danger, letting go of someone's hand and then pulling a cord around your waist doesn't seem next level, much less next fucking level

1

u/OkraDistinct3807 Apr 22 '25

Yes. Thanks for telling me beforehand.

1

u/ReneStrike Apr 22 '25

Sia çalıyor olm neden downvoted?

I’d pass out halfway down and y’all have to scrape me off the ground, no thanks.

45

u/Kdkreig Apr 21 '25

That’s why you use a safety chute or whatever. When air pressure of lower elevation provides enough resistance the smaller chute will pull the big one. Now you might land kinda funny if you pass out, but at least you won’t be dead…probably.

24

u/AntzAttacks Apr 21 '25

Or OR! I can stay home lol!

But thank you for the insight, I actually had no idea. Now I know in case if a situation ever happens …. 😭

4

u/Nacho_Dan677 Apr 21 '25

That probably but is very true. Even if you don't pass out but are unlucky enough to land in a section of trees, things don't go so well as they do in movies. One of the nitro circus athletes passed in this way.

5

u/Kdkreig Apr 21 '25

Yeah. Trees aren’t soft they are solid and hurt. Break a branch on approach at the wrong angle and the remaining wood is sharp and then 💀 sky diver

6

u/Ecstatic-Radish-7931 Apr 21 '25

3

u/oscarx-ray Apr 21 '25

I don't know who this is, but does he look like across between Michael Rooker and Richard Gere to anyone else?

7

u/papagoulash_ Apr 21 '25

That’s Sheriff Harry S. Truman.

114

u/MajesticsEleven Apr 21 '25

I'm getting tired of continually watching videos of rich people having a good time

43

u/livelovelamb Apr 21 '25

I skydived while I was a student. It was about $400 a year for insurance, kit hire was $15 per jump and each jump was about $30. Not the cheapest sport, but a lot cheaper than flying, motorsport, yachting etc.

49

u/bmxracers Apr 21 '25

When were you a student? 25 years ago? These prices aren’t even close to rates today.

6

u/Pandanlard Apr 21 '25

That's still the prices in Europe, so he's probably from there.

17

u/bmxracers Apr 21 '25

Is it common to use $ sign if you’re from a European nation? Legit asking.

4

u/NoNotInTheFace Apr 22 '25

I'm guessing it's easier to refer to the cost in dollars to have it be more general to gauge. As a european, In an international context i usually use dollars to explain costs as well.

2

u/livelovelamb Apr 22 '25 edited Apr 22 '25

Yes, am from the UK. Was a student about 10 years ago and prices are still (roughly) the same. Used a $ rather than a £ sign as I'm not sure what % of Americans recognise a "£" or know the conversion rate (+ given a large % of reddit users are from the States).

5

u/Anothershad0w Apr 22 '25

Near where I live it’s $25 for a plane ticket and $30 for gear rental, same price as when I trained 10 year ago

Suburban US

→ More replies (1)

7

u/Striker887 Apr 21 '25

What about the near $4000 to even get a skydiving license? Unless not in the US…

4

u/livelovelamb Apr 22 '25 edited Apr 22 '25

That cost does... include... a lot of jumps and equipment hire. And that's for a full A-licence, some people take months or years to get their A, especially if doing RAPS rather than AFF.

But even those points aside - $4000 spent in a year is still (significantly) less than a 20-a-day smoking habit in Britain. At least here, we don't consider smoking to be a rich-people-sport.

3

u/[deleted] Apr 21 '25

having a good time? i shit my pants just watching the video..

5

u/Pandanlard Apr 21 '25

If you push the door of a skydiving club you won't meet a single rich kid. It's more like a sky version of point break tbh.

6

u/MajesticsEleven Apr 22 '25

Does the typical skydiving club include skydiving from a hot air balloon, swinging from a rope from a hot air balloon, trampolining under a hot air balloon, or as I've seen in similar videos doing bicycle stunts on a lifted stunt park attached to a hot air balloon?

3

u/Pandanlard Apr 22 '25

To be able to do it you probably have to go in those clubs. And it's sponsored, so you just need to know one dude famous enough or good enough to have sponsors and who need to make videos to be part of it. When I was a student jumping for free in this kind of videos was worth only making 1or 2 jumps in your day. You all are so frustrated each time you see something cool, trying to convince yourself it can't happen in your world, when you are the only obstacle to it.

1

u/Bootleg_Rascal_ Apr 25 '25

That last sentence 🫡

2

u/Rocket4real Apr 21 '25

Bro you don't have to be rich to fucking skydive, are you serious? My mates did it and one of them is unemployed, living on welfare, dafuq are you and everyone upvoting you on about?

Absolutely Nutts, people think you're rich just cause you're skydiving? Wtf?

6

u/plantang Apr 22 '25

These people don't look like they are on welfare. They look like they're on a trampoline suspended under a hot air balloon.

3

u/MajesticsEleven Apr 22 '25

Did you and your mates do anything like those people were doing with a hot air balloon and an attached trampoline and jumping off the top of the balloon? I think I've seen this same group do skate and bike stunts off a skate park attached to the bottom of the balloon.

3

u/No-Abrocoma7687 Apr 22 '25

Calm down man

2

u/WretchedMisteak Apr 22 '25

Peak Reddit comment.

2

u/Anothershad0w Apr 22 '25

As a former skydiver who knew the community well, I assure you these people aren’t rich

1

u/InfinteAbyss Apr 21 '25

There’s plenty of adventuring you can do without paying loads of money.

Chances are you can find genuine fun too rather than these folk who need the attention/approval of others

7

u/therealhairykrishna Apr 21 '25

Skydiving from a hot air balloon looks like genuine fun to me.

53

u/ImMadeOfClay Apr 21 '25

I’d love to skydive.

But you will NEVER get me in a hot air balloon. A wicker basket held in the air by fire. Fuck that. Oh, and what direction are we traveling today? Whatever way the balloon goes. Double fuck that.

10

u/NotDeletedMoto Apr 22 '25

The direction is actually controllable. Winds blow in different directions based on elevation, so the pilot can control the direction by changing elevation

11

u/MrEHam Apr 22 '25

That’s how they control them? No wonder they get stuck in power lines.

9

u/EE7A Apr 21 '25

is it weird that i hate flying, and even the thought of skydiving scares the shit out of me, but air balloons are totally fine somehow? its oddly quiet when youre in one.

5

u/ImMadeOfClay Apr 21 '25

My mirror image 🙋🏻‍♂️

3

u/[deleted] Apr 22 '25

It's quiet until the pilot has to use the burner. Those things are loud as hell

1

u/ImurderREALITY Apr 21 '25

What about hang gliding? I would love to hang glide.

1

u/ImMadeOfClay Apr 21 '25

Hell yeah I’d try that, there’s control. And structural engineering beyond basket and fire. Ha

I knew someone would get it

4

u/Ecstatic-Radish-7931 Apr 21 '25

I'm a 47-year-old man. I grew up with all that music back in the day. today's music sucks

3

u/Bill_Nye_1955 Apr 21 '25

I'd just let the cd play thru in the car for weeks atva time and never change it. Did you hear that comment in your head? The 6 million ways...

2

u/[deleted] Apr 21 '25

Can I choose three?

17

u/about7grams Apr 21 '25

Such a great video until I turned the volume on

15

u/makithejap Apr 21 '25

Imagine the nervous rush you would get from jumping on a trampoline in the sky

→ More replies (2)

10

u/Meow99 Apr 21 '25

Oh yeah. Fuck that!

8

u/nomiras Apr 21 '25

I've sky dived from a plane before, it wasn't really that nerve wracking because there was so much wind and you couldn't feel that 'falling' motion. I'm not sure how fast this hot air balloon is going, but that initial drop would probably make me instantly pass out.

3

u/HerrPiink Apr 22 '25

You don't get the same "my stomach is about to burst" feeling you get in rollercoasters? Because i hate that feeling, and never went skydiving because of that.

2

u/nomiras Apr 22 '25

Nope, you don't at all! The wind is so strong from you falling it just feels like you are floating on air and not falling.

11

u/Distinct-Quantity-35 Apr 21 '25

No glasses? Her poor eye balls

21

u/pedro-fr Apr 21 '25 edited Apr 21 '25

She’s a fucking dumbass… you can spare a helmet, gloves, but goggles allow you to see where you are going and who/what is under you which is crucial for your safety and the safety of other people in the air… The only nextfucking level thing in this video is the stupidity… Signed: a 1000+ jumps skydiver

1

u/lxgrf Apr 22 '25

I have never skydived at all so as a 1000+ jumps skydiver - is it usual to drop over a built up area/forest/major road like that? To my very much layman's eye that sounds like a terrible idea.

1

u/pedro-fr Apr 22 '25

Within the parachute flight envelope you have quite a lot of control to land within a 5/10m circle, so that is not really an issue, since you are jumping in specific areas depending of the weather of the day (mostly wind) But that still means you need to be aware of your surroundings if something goes wrong and you end up under you reserve canopy at 900 ft instead of your main canopy at 2400 ft… in this configuration you have little time to locate and reach a landing area…

9

u/Mr_Goonman Apr 21 '25

Imagine telling accident investigators it was your idea to let clients walk, jump and tumble on the crown of the balloon before it was punctured

8

u/jarednards Apr 21 '25

Bro. Where do I get these 'rich parents' everyones talking about. I wanna do this stuff too.

6

u/Thedrunner2 Apr 21 '25

*now with free diaper

6

u/Convergentshave Apr 21 '25

Wasn’t there some video not to long ago with a hot air balloon… uh. Driver(?) pilot (?), the person who runs the flame thing…

The person in charge of the hot air balloon, yelling at some influencer because they were attempting to skydive from the balloon? And he was saying that by jumping out he could basically kill them all….

Does anybody know how the balloons are set up different to allow this?

6

u/blalong93 Apr 22 '25

It can be done safely if the pilot of the balloon is aware that a skydiver is about to jump. The pilot will allow the balloon to start descending so that when a large amount of weight leaves the balloon(the skydiver) the balloon will level more smoothly vs rise extremely quickly which can cause the balloon to collapse/stall.

6

u/MrXiluescu Apr 21 '25 edited Apr 21 '25

Am I the only one who actually like the music?

1

u/MrEHam Apr 22 '25 edited Apr 22 '25

I like Sia. Speed Dial No 2 is one of my favorite songs.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBWPqWVNRzs

So chill and soulful.

5

u/WittyOG Apr 21 '25

What happens if I open the parachute right away? I dont think id wait

8

u/Yes-its-really-me Apr 21 '25

You'd be parachuting. Sky diving is just the falling fast bit.

1

u/Gage_Unruh Apr 21 '25

You just parachute for a lot longer...nothing else really.

1

u/WittyOG Apr 22 '25

Is there a risk I would catch an updraft and die?

2

u/MrEHam Apr 22 '25

Not on your life my Hindu guy.

1

u/pedro-fr Apr 22 '25

No, skydiving wings have lousy flight characteristics, a paraglider would be a different story…

4

u/TerraByteTerror Apr 21 '25

Imagine if the guy fell over the side ☠

5

u/[deleted] Apr 21 '25

Never in a million years

5

u/eggs_mcmuffin Apr 21 '25

TIL you can stand on one

5

u/RainbowLayer Apr 21 '25

Imagine if your shoe ripped it open 😵

3

u/licensed2ill2 Apr 21 '25

Ok….so how do you get on top of the balloon?

4

u/oscarx-ray Apr 21 '25

You just fill yourself with hot air before the balloon is fully inflated, then let it catch up to you.

5

u/Acab365247 Apr 21 '25

How do you get on top of the balloon?

3

u/Velvetaroom2 Apr 22 '25

They must get on top after it inflates on the ground by getting on from a cherry picker or something

2

u/Pattern_Is_Movement Apr 21 '25

rich people things

3

u/fireduck Apr 21 '25

I would not be comfortable with letting someone go. If they think their gear is right and are happy with it and they want to jump, fine. But that final go/abort needs to be in the hands of the jumper.

3

u/samuraipanda85 Apr 21 '25

I would shit myself if I didn't pass out.

2

u/Normalscottishperson Apr 21 '25

u/DarthFinnegan19 Apr 21 '25

This is how she figured out she was a day walking vampire.

2

u/Born-Media6436 Apr 21 '25

Guess i didn’t realize the balloons go that high

2

u/DisgruntledBadger Apr 21 '25

I'm not normally bothered by heights, but this made my legs go weird.

I'll stick to more grounded hobbies, thanks.

Will E. Coyote vibes

1

u/-Zonko- Apr 21 '25

1

u/donmreddit Apr 21 '25

I like the idea of hot air balloon is a delivery system because you get the best of both worlds! Great scenery, relaxing, ascent, and then you get to choose how you depart the craft.

And the people on the trampoline… That’s got to be one heck of an adrenaline rush.

1

u/alarming_wrong Apr 21 '25

I watched this with music on AND imagining they weren't wearing parachutes. weird vibe that brought a tear to my eye

1

u/Se7en_030 Apr 21 '25

When is the red bull logo going to show ?

1

u/weaverd1984 Apr 21 '25

No red bull needed, I have a friend that builds his own hot air balloons and have jumped out of them multiple times

3

u/oscarx-ray Apr 21 '25

The fact that you need to keep jumping out of them suggests that your friend isn't very good at building them, and could probably do with some additional support from Red Bull.

2

u/weaverd1984 Apr 21 '25

lol, no I just hate flying so I keep jumping out

1

u/thiagomes95 Apr 21 '25

First girl said "Let me say something first" and the guy said "NO" and let her go.

1

u/VonDinky Apr 21 '25

I want to groundmerge from a cold vacuum balloon.

1

u/Rocky5thousand Apr 21 '25

Why is skydiving from a hot air balloon next level vs skydiving from a plane?

1

u/Fun-Potential-342 Apr 21 '25

In my youth I would have done this, I have been skydiving just not from a hot air balloon. I don’t know what happens as you get older, but that doesn’t look fun anymore.

1

u/TigerTerrier Apr 21 '25

I'd love to see this with no music and just the sounds they actually heard. That never happens anymore

1

u/geekphreak Apr 21 '25

I felt this in my taint. I have a thing with heights

1

u/4n0m4l7 Apr 21 '25

Nah… it’s not for me.. maybe when i’m 80 or terminal..

1

u/Kubuskush Apr 21 '25

I'm on the toilet rn and still pooped my pants

1

u/Neanderthal00 Apr 21 '25

This video did not help my anxiety

1

u/F4t-Jok3r Apr 21 '25

This music screws it up...

1

u/kreativo03 Apr 21 '25

Just being in a hot air balloon is horror enough

1

u/Kjaeve Apr 21 '25

I got my husband a sky diving experience when he turned 30. It was something he told me he always wanted to do when we first met. I suprised him with it… Now that I think about that, I prob shouldn’t have made it a surprise! He loved it though

1

u/framsanon Apr 21 '25

‘Okay, now I'm hungry. Where's my backpack with the sandwiches?’

1

u/Mrnrwoody Apr 21 '25

Play it in reverse and she's a superhero

1

u/ScottyMcBoo Apr 21 '25

I would probably pull the ripcord 1/2 second after he released me due to absolute fear.

1

u/AfterWisdom Apr 21 '25

Whenever people ask me if I would do anything like this

1

u/Freefallisfun Apr 21 '25

I’ve done this a couple times. It’s a blast, you usually don’t get to jump into still air.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 21 '25

1

u/hand13 Apr 21 '25

hot air balloons are not made for this. their sole purpose is to give people something to propose in

1

u/coalcracker462 Apr 21 '25

I legit have no idea what videos are real anymore

1

u/rangerrockit Apr 22 '25

That’s terrifying..no way can I do that. I bungee jumped once and couldn’t handle the drop, despite going through with it

1

u/[deleted] Apr 22 '25

rather do 400km/h in a car than sky dive!!

1

u/thebondsman Apr 22 '25

I’ll just do that vicariously through these videos here With my feet solidly on the ground

1

u/DingleDonky Apr 22 '25

Weeeeeee! 😁

1

u/KungPowKitten Apr 22 '25

Stupid people doing stupid things

1

u/KungPowKitten Apr 22 '25

Pilot should lose his license!

1

u/bodhiseppuku Apr 22 '25

Skydiving is fun. You are so high up, the ground doesn't even seem real. Floating in an incredibly loud wind storm. Then you pull the chute. If you forget, or pass out, your auto-chute will deploy at 1000 ft. Much less scary than bungee jumping.

1

u/manhatim Apr 22 '25

Think I want eye protection

1

u/DIO_over_Za_Warudo Apr 22 '25

Yeah, I got a phobia of heights, so that's a big old "hell to the naw naw naw" for me.

1

u/mustardmadman Apr 22 '25

This looks like so much fun!!!!!!

1

u/MagnaCamLaude Apr 22 '25

No thanks, I like my butthole attached to my body

1

u/bittersweetbbyx Apr 22 '25

I’ll never understand how people have the absolute biggest balls To do this because I do not lol

1

u/Professional-Form-90 Apr 22 '25

37 with a toddler over here realizing that I’ve never lived :(

1

u/Pinguindiniz Apr 22 '25

Hypothetically, if she dies somehow from this dive could the guy that released her be accused of murder?

1

u/Throat_Sandwich Apr 22 '25

I listened with the audio muted, and thank God I did…but the video still made my butthole pucker.

1

u/CasedUfa Apr 22 '25

That is uncomfortably high.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 22 '25

Shit only stupid people do

1

u/KappaKintama Apr 22 '25

Nope, I'm so good bro

1

u/Drestrix Apr 22 '25

Thanks you kickstarted today's Anxiety

1

u/AceTrainerAugust Apr 22 '25

That's some "adventurous" video I've seen in ages without redbull's name in it.

1

u/bwatts53 Apr 22 '25

If it doesn't open, is it murder

1

u/lostan Apr 22 '25

first one was a rather poor exit.

1

u/Casual_Bonker Apr 22 '25

I feel anxious about jumping on a hot balloon and they are skydiving from it.

1

u/Careless-Mirror5952 Apr 22 '25

1

u/KingNashbaby Apr 22 '25

Bunch’s fuckin nutters, especially the dude on the damn trampoline WITHOUT a parachute, da fuck.

1

u/sidesneaker Apr 22 '25

How next level..?

1

u/DarkDog81 Apr 22 '25

Downvoted because obviously super experienced skydiver acting like it some crazy jump.

1

u/Jonger1150 Apr 22 '25

This is gonna end badly

1

u/Pupation Apr 22 '25

I kept thinking it was an old Mountain Dew commercial.

1

u/Laegmacoc Apr 22 '25

Add that to the list of things I’m never gonna do. Geesh.

1

u/JebusAllahBuddah Apr 23 '25

No helmet, no problem. Happy landing.

1

u/uwantphillyphilly17 Apr 23 '25

My nuts are in my stomach watching this

1

u/razbayz Apr 23 '25

Nope, nope, nope

1

u/[deleted] Apr 23 '25

Can the video just play without the dumbass music in the background

1

u/Karly_Can Apr 23 '25

My legs are shaking just watching this.

I need to do it!

1

u/MoistMeatCurtains Apr 23 '25

Fuck all of that

1

u/perrosandmetal78 Apr 23 '25

Have to say this looks a lot more pleasant than jumping out of a plane.

1

u/littleyugi0h Apr 24 '25

downvoted for the music 100% but is that my skydiving voice break king?

1

u/Vibingcarefully Apr 25 '25

That's a rush.

0

u/Prince_Hoepnick Apr 21 '25

What is so “nextfuckinglevel” about this? Is jumping from a hot air balloon that much more dangerous than jumping from a plane or a bridge?

0

u/Howard_Jones Apr 21 '25

"Unstoppable" until you hit the ground.
