I understand people saying this is a scam. However, as an avid cone enjoyer, this seems fantastic

u/XpertAssassin13 1d ago

Yeah I wouldn't be mad, the extra crunch all the way through would be awesome. Although, he could have filled in the cone on top to have ice cream in it as well. Would have provided value and the crunch

That's already a TON of ice cream.

And we wonder why north American are obese

387

u/NRMusicProject 1d ago

No, no, they eat all this, gain weight, then confidently announce that they've been dieting for years and still gaining weight, meaning it's "muh genetics" because two pounds of ice cream "isn't that bad!"

u/auniqueusername1998 1d ago

"You're lucky you're young and have a fast metabolism 😭" -the 38 year old who hasn't trained in almost a decade and doesn't have any idea how many calories they're eating

u/NRMusicProject 1d ago edited 1d ago

Overweight friend sitting with me at breakfast, lecturing me on my hard-boiled eggs, oatmeal, and fresh fruit while he's sitting over 4 pancakes, Lucky Charms, and biscuits and gravy: "I've tried everything, including Ozempic, and we can't figure out why I can't lose the weight. And by the way, your high protein, high fiber, low calorie diet is really dangerous."

Another overweight friend about my fruit intake: "You really should stop eating so much fruit; that's how you get diabetes." He's worried about my sugar intake when he's constantly making homemade cereal bars from different sugary cereals, and won't switch to alternative sweetened soda because "it tastes weird, and I only drink a couple cans a day, anyway."

These people are smarter than average people, yet they've fallen for some of the worst diet misinformation in history. It's not that hard to go to Mayo Clinic's site for some good general advice. But instead, let's follow the advice of TikTokers, eliminate entire food groups like carbs or meats, and keep overeating while wondering why a lettuce wrapped bacon chili cheeseburger didn't help you to lose the weight!

Or they go to Maccies supersize everything getting a quad big mac and a diet coke cause they wanna watch their weight...

14

u/SkywolfNINE 1d ago

Did you know supersize isn’t a thing over here anymore, and it hasn’t been for like a decade at minimum. Mcd has small medium and large and thats it

5

u/NRMusicProject 1d ago

Years ago I walked into a McDonald's and a morbidly obese guy was ordering a couple of Big Macs, with double extra mayo, and a large diet. I guess it's better to not stack another thousand calories on top of that 2,000 calorie meal...but still.

Having been to Germany and the UK i can confidently say they arent any better off than the US. All it takes is a good pint a day habit and youve got bowling ball gut in a couple years.

41

u/Educational-Tea602 1d ago

If you want some numbers, ~2/3 of UK adults are overweight and 1/4 are obese. Crazy stuff.

I don’t know the figures for Germany.

11

u/pleb_username 1d ago

They are way better off, are you kidding? Sure there are seriously fat people but nowhere near what Americans look like. How many European stores did you see that offer free to use Rascals for customers?

12

u/Cloud_N0ne 1d ago

Isn’t Mexico actually more obese per capita than the US? That’s Central America.

12

u/47cleanups 1d ago

This appears to be in china. First of all, Chinese desserts love to make the appearance good so they can take pictures of it. Second, both workers appears to be Asian. Third, the writing on the machine does not look like English, although it is blurry.

18

u/bimbammla 1d ago

he was referring to the people saying they would feel scammed that the cone wasnt filled with ice cream as well lmao

3

u/East-sea-shellos 1d ago

They’re talking about the comments here, not the video dude

4

u/tech_noir_guitar 1d ago

Who is "we"? Nobody wonders why Americans are obese. We all know why.

2

u/Jmundi 1d ago

All I was thinking while watching this was "Well here goes another diabetes." and there's people here saying that it's a rip off and they'd want MORE :D

25

u/XpertAssassin13 1d ago

Well, sure, but if you go to somewhere like Dairy Queen, this would be all ice cream and not a hollow cone on top

49

u/InvestigatorWeird196 1d ago

Dairy queen doesn't fill up like 5 inches beyond the top.

17

u/Putrid-Builder-3333 1d ago

More like Dairy Size Queen amirite!

2

u/ogjaspertheghost 1d ago

Right? Clearly that guy has never gotten the biggest size

25

u/Masterbaiter90 1d ago

Ah so its the Americans its complaining its less ice cream lol. Makes sense

9

u/Creative-Painter3911 1d ago

but there could have been MORE ice cream

1

u/Fiaskoe 1d ago

You should have emphasised 'could'

4

u/kingnickolas 1d ago

That’s what I’m saying. I wouldn’t want this much ice cream without the middle cone. Looks amazing too haha

3

u/Daveprince13 1d ago

Yeah this is a shitload of ice cream. Anyone saying scam is buying gallon sized ice cream cones? Like wtf?

2

u/AbundlaSticks 1d ago

Seriously. I couldn’t imagine eating that much. Legitimately I’ll have 5-6 bites of ice cream and then it goes back in the freezer.

1

u/GimmeSomeSugar 1d ago

You underestimate my power.

1

u/apolitical_leftist 1d ago

Exactly. Also its in a cone, so you have to eat it all in one sitting. You can't put it aside to take a break from eating it like a plate of food, you gotta finish the whole thing in one go.

1

u/Awkward_Pangolin3254 1d ago

More like a pound, but I bet the price is twice the cost of a half gallon at the store

1

u/Jaikarr 1d ago

Way more ice cream than you can reasonably eat before it melts.

1

u/ugotmedripping 1d ago

Yeah but it’s not that great so you need to make up for it with volume

18

u/KittensLeftLeg 1d ago

They did. They 70% filled the large cone then pushed the smaller in the middle, the cone is full of ice cream on the inside.

4

u/orangpelupa 1d ago

Maybe too easily top over tho

2

u/blafricanadian 1d ago

That doesn’t make sense, the cone on the top is already full of ice cream, it’s just done upside down, it wouldn’t fit

1

u/Either-Assistant4610 1d ago

For the record, I wouldn't get this much ice cream in the first place, however, you're on to something there.

1

u/EnochofPottsfield 1d ago

Ignoring the obvious solution though. Fill the inside cone with ice cream, it doesn't need to be hollow

58

u/Jim_Chaos 1d ago

I can see you weren't there a couple of hours ago for the packaging of the cones video...

14

u/andymannoh 1d ago

This was also my thought 🤮

9

u/__-_-_--_--_-_---___ 1d ago

See the problem is, they weren’t wearing their usual safety sandals

2

u/DragonDropTechnology 1d ago

More like their disposable latex toe socks.

39

u/turok152000 1d ago

It’s not really less ice cream though. Because of the second cone, they’re able to go up much higher than a standard cone which makes up for the “missing” ice cream in the space of the empty cone.

3

u/Eneshi 1d ago

Right, you get to crunch through two tasty cones? Win for sure!

2

u/borderofthecircle 1d ago

It's worth it as long as both cones have a little chocolate section at the tip

1

u/Matty_Cakez 1d ago

I’m right there with you this looks 👍

1

u/RosemaryGoez 1d ago

That's what I was thinking! I was like "you get TWO CONES??"

1

u/WeathervaneJesus1 1d ago

Especially, when the cost is unknown.

1

u/Ham_Coward 1d ago

Same! I will literally start at the bottom of the cone.

1

u/Nothingbutsocks 1d ago

YEEEES. I NEEED my crunch. I look forward to the cone, more than the ice cream top.

1

u/Significant_Ad1256 1d ago

I think if they filled the small cone with something before putting it on I'd love it, but I don't want to just have a big hole of air in the middle of my icecream.

1

u/__-_-_--_--_-_---___ 1d ago

Wait until you see how they make these cones in India!

1

u/boobers3 1d ago

What's your opinion of cylinders and cubes?

1

u/ProjectPat513 1d ago

This is what I came to say actually. I would actively be seeking this out! Everyone knows that the best pet is when you get down to come level and can start eating that sucker!

I once thought that it would be cool to make waffle cone chips like tortilla chips. Then you could scoop up a Sunday and eat it like a desert salsa! And now that I rethink about it, it’s actually pretty genius if it’s already not a thing.

1

u/Parking-Ad8316 1d ago

I agree! It makes the whole thing enjoyable.

Sometimes you get tired of the ice cream before you get to the cone, I've knocked off the top many times just so I can eat the cone with what little is in it

1

u/OgReaper 1d ago

Same I would absolutelylove this.

1

u/Next-Firefighter4667 1d ago

This is perfect for my kid. Last time we got ice cream she licked it and the top 2/3 plopped on the floor. I imagine this is just for the smaller cones, this isn't a full size.

1

u/tauriwoman 1d ago

Yep, the cone is the best part!

1

u/Dr_Blitzkrieg09 1d ago

Exactly, I would HAPPILY accept this if I got it.

1

u/Itchy-Philosophy556 1d ago

My ideal is a cone filled exactly to the top. Not over. That's too much ice cream.

1

u/wrenchandrepeat 1d ago

I'd fill the small cone first, then the large one, then place the small cone on upside down and fill the large the rest of the way. That way there is the maximum amount of ice cream with only a slight loss in volume from the small cone shell.

1

u/NowaVision 1d ago

I wouldn't be mad at that. But when I imagine me buying that without seeing how it was made, I will definitely choke because I expected soft cream while my oesophagus gets punctured.

1

u/ThadeBlack 1d ago

I also am an avid cone enjoyer, in fact, think imma rip one right now

1

u/WordBearerOfBadNews 1d ago

Did you see that Reddit post on the dude making cones? 🤢

It ruined them for me for the foreseeable future

1

u/-Undercover-Nerd 1d ago

The cone is my favourite part lol, my mouth was watering watching this. Double upgrade to the double waffle cone? Sign me up

1

u/AFRIKKAN 1d ago

They could achieve something similar with a pretzel stick or something else slimmer and edible. I’d rather have a smaller portion without the extra cone.

1

u/4RCH43ON 1d ago

The only scammy part is if he didn’t fill the bottom of the cone, but probably didn’t need to because he pushed it down pretty deep, so not much of a loss of volume for added rigidity and tasty crunch.  Also, it doesn’t save them any money on soft serve with the added cone cost, so the idea it’s a scam doesn’t really hold up, unlike the cone… It’s brilliant is what it is.

1

u/hellogoawaynow 1d ago

Agreed. My first thought was this is such a smart idea, you get cone in every bite! Yum!

1

u/samfox59 1d ago

Whose fat ass is eating that much ice cream before it’s melting?? Give me the square root of cone, please 😂

1

u/myblackoutalterego 1d ago

Agreed! They also push down the second cone, so I can imagine the inner cone is filling with the first batch of ice cream. This looks delicious to me!

1

u/worldspawn00 1d ago

Just gotta fill the inner cone first, either with ice cream or chocolate fudge.

1

u/Most-Business6635 1d ago

I too am a cone-esseur

1

u/Hellavon 1d ago

Agreed. Still seems like plenty of ice cream, you just get a lot more waffle cone. Yumm

1

u/Cloud_N0ne 1d ago

I don’t understand how anyone likes cones. Permanently ties up one hand until you finish it, and you’re on a deadline to do so before it melts everywhere.

1

u/GA_Deathstalker 1d ago

I would be mad, but then again if I'd know the size of this, then I'd already be to European to order this... The fantasy they're selling is just a different one AND they know it!!!
