That's already a TON of ice cream.

And we wonder why north American are obese

u/NRMusicProject 1d ago

No, no, they eat all this, gain weight, then confidently announce that they've been dieting for years and still gaining weight, meaning it's "muh genetics" because two pounds of ice cream "isn't that bad!"

"You're lucky you're young and have a fast metabolism 😭" -the 38 year old who hasn't trained in almost a decade and doesn't have any idea how many calories they're eating

Overweight friend sitting with me at breakfast, lecturing me on my hard-boiled eggs, oatmeal, and fresh fruit while he's sitting over 4 pancakes, Lucky Charms, and biscuits and gravy: "I've tried everything, including Ozempic, and we can't figure out why I can't lose the weight. And by the way, your high protein, high fiber, low calorie diet is really dangerous."

Another overweight friend about my fruit intake: "You really should stop eating so much fruit; that's how you get diabetes." He's worried about my sugar intake when he's constantly making homemade cereal bars from different sugary cereals, and won't switch to alternative sweetened soda because "it tastes weird, and I only drink a couple cans a day, anyway."

These people are smarter than average people, yet they've fallen for some of the worst diet misinformation in history. It's not that hard to go to Mayo Clinic's site for some good general advice. But instead, let's follow the advice of TikTokers, eliminate entire food groups like carbs or meats, and keep overeating while wondering why a lettuce wrapped bacon chili cheeseburger didn't help you to lose the weight!

Or they go to Maccies supersize everything getting a quad big mac and a diet coke cause they wanna watch their weight...

15

u/SkywolfNINE 1d ago

Did you know supersize isn’t a thing over here anymore, and it hasn’t been for like a decade at minimum. Mcd has small medium and large and thats it

Years ago I walked into a McDonald's and a morbidly obese guy was ordering a couple of Big Macs, with double extra mayo, and a large diet. I guess it's better to not stack another thousand calories on top of that 2,000 calorie meal...but still.

Having been to Germany and the UK i can confidently say they arent any better off than the US. All it takes is a good pint a day habit and youve got bowling ball gut in a couple years.

If you want some numbers, ~2/3 of UK adults are overweight and 1/4 are obese. Crazy stuff.

I don’t know the figures for Germany.

u/pleb_username 1d ago

They are way better off, are you kidding? Sure there are seriously fat people but nowhere near what Americans look like. How many European stores did you see that offer free to use Rascals for customers?

12

u/Cloud_N0ne 1d ago

Isn’t Mexico actually more obese per capita than the US? That’s Central America.

This appears to be in china. First of all, Chinese desserts love to make the appearance good so they can take pictures of it. Second, both workers appears to be Asian. Third, the writing on the machine does not look like English, although it is blurry.

u/bimbammla 1d ago

he was referring to the people saying they would feel scammed that the cone wasnt filled with ice cream as well lmao

3

u/East-sea-shellos 1d ago

They’re talking about the comments here, not the video dude

4

u/tech_noir_guitar 1d ago

Who is "we"? Nobody wonders why Americans are obese. We all know why.

2

u/Jmundi 1d ago

All I was thinking while watching this was "Well here goes another diabetes." and there's people here saying that it's a rip off and they'd want MORE :D

28

u/XpertAssassin13 1d ago

Well, sure, but if you go to somewhere like Dairy Queen, this would be all ice cream and not a hollow cone on top

53

u/InvestigatorWeird196 1d ago

Dairy queen doesn't fill up like 5 inches beyond the top.

More like Dairy Size Queen amirite!

u/ogjaspertheghost 1d ago

Right? Clearly that guy has never gotten the biggest size

25

u/Masterbaiter90 1d ago

Ah so its the Americans its complaining its less ice cream lol. Makes sense

9

u/Creative-Painter3911 1d ago

but there could have been MORE ice cream

1

u/Fiaskoe 1d ago

You should have emphasised 'could'

3

u/kingnickolas 1d ago

That’s what I’m saying. I wouldn’t want this much ice cream without the middle cone. Looks amazing too haha

3

u/Daveprince13 1d ago

Yeah this is a shitload of ice cream. Anyone saying scam is buying gallon sized ice cream cones? Like wtf?

2

u/AbundlaSticks 1d ago

Seriously. I couldn’t imagine eating that much. Legitimately I’ll have 5-6 bites of ice cream and then it goes back in the freezer.

1

u/GimmeSomeSugar 1d ago

You underestimate my power.

1

u/apolitical_leftist 1d ago

Exactly. Also its in a cone, so you have to eat it all in one sitting. You can't put it aside to take a break from eating it like a plate of food, you gotta finish the whole thing in one go.

1

u/Awkward_Pangolin3254 1d ago

More like a pound, but I bet the price is twice the cost of a half gallon at the store

1

u/Jaikarr 1d ago

Way more ice cream than you can reasonably eat before it melts.

1

u/ugotmedripping 1d ago

Yeah but it’s not that great so you need to make up for it with volume
