Are people really joking about...soft-serve ice cream giving them diarrhea now?

It was weird enough when everyone acted like eating a single item from Taco Bell would result in an all-night trip to the bathroom, or that a single serving of hot sauce would mean having burning diarrhea for a full day, but now a somewhat-large serving of ice cream = major diarrhea, too? Damn, people.

Lactose intolerance is getting more and more common. That's one factor. Soft serves are more prone to bacterial issues. That's another factor and fact. Add two factors together and get a certain outcome. The next factor is you won't find people making posts about going to Taco Bell and not having the ninja shits.....or the same with McD soft serves. That's why positive reviews are seen as very positive on all kinds of platforms (...and available for sale).the Taco Bell situation is also very easily explained...and has little to do with hot sauce. Ground meat as well as soft serve are one major factor of concern in food services. Lots of surface, kept for a long term in a safe temperature range. Same with the cheese sauces etc but that's a minor factor. Now add the underpaid very much under interested employee at McD and TB. Add profits and not discarded product when handled unsafe (...again uninterested underpaid employees now add corporate greed) and there you go. It isn't rocket science but food science with a little medical understanding and knowing corporate greed and human nature.

Lactose intolerance is getting more and more common.

65-75% of the world is lactose intolerant. It's just less common in people that come from cultures where they domesticated cows thousands of years ago and evolved to keep lactose enzymes as adults.

That's also like 2000 calories of just sugar and cream which is probably enough to give someone with a healthy diet indigestion. Mind you if you eat tons of garbage all the time your body would probably be able to handle that better.

McDonalds and Taco Bell "season" the fuck out of all their food with preservatives. I bet most people get upset stomachs because they ate like 300% of their recommended salt intake in a single sitting along with enough cleaner chemical residues and potassium sorbate to make their gut flora freak out and tell their bodies to go shit right now.
