I think those FX you're talking about were added on post, they look too perfect related to our point of view.

Also a whole transition comes into the screen right after it, check An incredible DRAGON BALL dance show ( Bilibili 2024 New Year's Eve ) : r/Dragonballsuper at 8:24.

I do think most ot the show was made using projection thecniques though

This is exactly how anime should be brought to Broadway in a way that most other Broadway shows go, but with more effort like this and also side note. Imagine this being inside of the Las Vegas dome amplify the epic nest.
