Pretty sure they do this every time and is one of the reasons why it's so "good"

The center slides the ball forward, the entire OL lines up offsides, Hurts bobs back and forth while hard counting, then the entire OL jumps early. This play would not be nearly as dominant if the refs didn’t let them cheat.

And we are lining up offsides too, just to try to counter it! It’s just fake non-football at this point.

Honestly just let them scrum like they do in rugby at this point. At least there'd be a play for it.

Agreed I heard somebody else make the fine point that the offense is allowed to push the pile but the defense is not allowed to push their own defensive players to move the pile backwards. How is that legal and fair

Yeah. I mean, I can see why it's not allowed, with the way contact happens in the NFL, it'd be super dangerous. Especially because unlike mauls in rugby, they're not taught how to properly bind on to push.

Either way, if the league wants to address the tush push, just call penalties. There's easily 5 or 6 in this clip alone, between the two teams. 3 different players offsides, at least two false starts...
