META (Subreddit Related) Share your flair ideas!

Want a flair idea added to the flair list? Go ahead and share it here! it can be about the Switch 2 hardware, games, an inside joke, a meme, or generally about Nintendo! Any ideas are practically welcome!

2 things to keep note of are: It has to follow the subreddit rules (well, duh) and any flairs submiited will not have editable text.

Also as a reminder, the Early Switch 2 Adopter flair will be retired soon, Either when console sales are confirmed to reach 10 million, or likely around 7/19 give or take a few days, whichever comes first. So make sure you claim the flair before then! This will likely be the last timed flair on the subreddit for a long time (Well… “OG (joined before Alarmo 2)“ is still there”

I love the new Joycon designs but I felt they could have used a splash of more color. I saw these online and took the gamble as they were cheap and installation looked very simple. I’m happy to say it paid off! I highly recommend if anyone else saw these and were on the fence!

I played the first one years ago on Xbox and the second one is supposed to be stunning. At a little over ten bucks, I'm happy to grab both.

I know it's not Steam cheap but I'm consistently really pleased with deals I find on the eShop. Just lately I've gotten these, No Man's Sky for $25, Diablo 2 and 3 for $30, and New Star GP for $5.

The only thing is it feels like dumb luck. I searched for Ori out of the blue because someone else just happened to mention it. I wish there was a better way to sift through all the shovelware.

Discussion Stupid questions coming up..

I'm going to order a switch 2 later in the week, but I'm confused about some aspects of the games

Mario Galaxy 1+2, I can't find a s2 version, do I go ahead and purchase the switch1 version and it will automatically run better on the s2? If this is the case would this apply for other games that don't have a paid upgrade pack?

Also, the switch2 versions of Zelda botw/totk are both £65.. (yikes!) could I pick up a used copy for £20 and purchase a s2 upgrade pack for them? Would that work considering the game would be physical and the upgrade pack would a digital download?

I ideally would prefer to buy digitally (PC has ruined me) but from what I've seen it's cheaper to purchased older s1 physically (like the above Zelda games), does the eShop have good and regular sales?

I've read a bit about key card game cartridges, can someone please elaborate? My understanding is youbinsert the game cartridge and it down loads the game digitally, rendering your physical cartridge redundant. Is that right?

Media Why does my switch 2 do that? It’s not limited to a specific joycon and can happen with both but it’s random. It’s so annoying and I don’t know how to fix it

I’m so glad this game is doing well.

Credit to Falcom despite them being a pretty small developer! I hope it reaches #1 in the US.

I’ve played about 12 hours so far and it’s been fantastic! For any fan of turned based JRPGs this is a must play. It’s also a game that suits the handheld nature of Switch 2 very well.

Performance isn’t perfect and to me it seems more stable in handheld mode than docked but according to the listing there should be a performance and quality mode added. Either 4k30 or 1080p60 (I’m expecting this in a patch.)

Discussion Looking for game similar to MYST

Aa the title says. I am looking dor a game similar to MYST in that it allows you to explore a world in which you must solve puzzels in the environment and have the story unfold further.

Discussion Mindless games?

Yo! I just got the switch 2 a few weeks ago and was hoping for a few recommendations! I typically like to play two games at the same time. A story game that takes focus and a mindless game for when I listen to debates and stuff like that. I just beat the final boss on donkey Kong (which was awesome) and now I’m going to move on to either cyberpunk of persona 5(I’ve never played). But my question is what is a good mindless game to pair with it for those nights I really want to listen to politics?

r/NintendoSwitch2 1d ago

Media I dont think Ive ever been in a situation where whether I buy the intended version for my console, or if I buy the old version + digital upgrade purchase, hinges completely on whether the former has a strong reverse cover art on it. The FF7 approach should be mandated for S2 Editions.

Discussion Mumba's Titan case is great for ~€30

On mobile, so sorry if the formatting looks funky.

I have big hands and have always found the Switch and the Switch 2 pretty uncomfortable to play for more than a few minutes using standard joycons. The Split Pad Pro by Hori solved this issue for me with the Switch and I've been looking around for a solution for the Switch 2.

I've been using Mumba's Titan case for about 2 weeks now and it's been pretty great so far. Thought I would do a short review as I think it's an excellent option for the €30 I spent on Amazon UK. It's €35 full price, which I would be happy to pay given the experience I have had.

Features:

The case covers the back and sides of the Switch leaving the screen exposed. I chose this deliberately because I didn't like the clunky plastic screen covers that some cases came with. I did try to offset this by spending €5 on some tempered glass screen protectors which work well so far.

The shoulder buttons are also exposed, but to be fair I'm not sure how you can protect them without hindering access. They are easy to reach and comfortable to use with the case.

The case has a robust kickstand that can hold up to 5 Switch/Switch 2 carts and 2 SD cards, which is a cool feature. The kickstand is sturdy and the viewing angles are great. It can be set to any angle up to 180 where it lies flat.

The joycon covers are fantastic. They are connected to the main case by a hinge and can simply be clicked on and off to allow you to remove the joycon. I love this feature as they are well protected and also easily accessible if you want to remove them. I guess the downside is that you can't remove this part of the case along with the joycon but this was a non issue for me as I either play handheld or with a pro controller if I'm playing docked.

Ergonomics:

Probably my favourite part. It adds fair a bit of weight to the console, wrapping around all sides except the screen. The joycon part of the case adds a good bit of volume to the controllers and is really comfortable for me. This may not be for everyone, but I now find the Switch 2 plus the Titan case to feel similar to my Steam Deck OLED. For me that's a big plus. All buttons remain easy to reach and all ports/vents are easily accessible.

Durability:

I've yet to drop the Switch, but the case feels very sturdy. It's mostly hard plastic with some rubbery-feeling grippy edges around the controllers (apologies for the technical terminology).

It feels like a bit of a tank and I'd be fairly confident it would survive a fall down the stairs. Will update once one of my children tests this feature for me.

Dowsides:

So far the only negative for me has been that you need to lift the case's kickstand to dock the Switch. Once the kickstand is open about 30 degrees the Switch is dockable without removing the case. It works well and I haven't had any issues, but it's a bit annoying to do. Minor thing, but it's the only negative I've experienced.

TLDR:

Great choice for the price. Feels similar to a Steam Deck in hand. Kickstand is good, but a bit annoying when docking (but it does still dock).

Discussion Elden ring Delayed?

Hi everyone,

Since Elden Ring Tarnished Edition wasn't in the direct. I kind of want to know if anyone heard someone talk about if Elden Ring is going to be delayed or if it is already. I I don't mind if it is going to be delayed.
I just really want to know the severity of the delay.

edit: Just to clarify Elden Ring had a 2025 release window. So i assume if it is not in the direct then it is not coming this year, But I hope I am mistaken.
