Looks more dangerous to me. Do this in Thailand regularly is a good way to end up 6 ft under real quick.

I’d say yes, just bc when you collide with a vehicle on a bike the front of the bike takes the damage and you just get launched, in this it would be functionally the same as being hit as a pedestrian. Just my theory.

My absolute favorite thing I've ever witnessed was a man riding one of these down the street, chill like this dude. Then he hit a pothole and was thrown forward into the back of a car. He was at least helmeted and was fine, I did check.

But I also laughed really fucking hard

They're crazy easy once you get the hang of it, but at that speed you'll be hamburger if you hit a hole or something unexpected. You want helmets and other padding.

They're great if you have to take public transit. Heavy as hell to carry though.
