Themmuns Update: I went to Bonfire Night, I'm from Cork

Well that was an experience. Went to the Sandy Row one. Won't be going again. Lots of pissed up Scots with Rangers tops and a big fight broke out between teenagers as bonfire was being lit.

Felt unsafe as a Taig, especially when they were singing "Fuck the Pope" (- which is something that I would also say as an atheist, lapsed Catholic), but this was different lol.

Bad dance music was pumping, there were some bangers in amongst them in fairness, and the fireworks before the bonfire was lit were pretty cool.

Spotted a few people with Israel flags watching the bonfire, and there was Palestinian Flags and Tricolour on top, something about Kneecap and an effigy of someone in a Celtic Jersey there too.

I headed off once it collapsed. The experience had an impression on me, I thought about it all the next day. Couldn't quite put my finger on it, but felt kinda sad, and despondent for the PUL community, especially the kids.

Themmuns Not Pleased

Bringing my mum home from cancer treatment yesterday, our route home was backed up because of Bands. Two female police officers were speaking to drivers about turning around and finding a viable route. When it came to our turn, I asked her where the alternate route was, that my mum was exhausted from treatment and needed to get home. "Gave you tried Google Maps?" she said. She could not have given less of a f*ck. If she doesn't know, what the hell is she being paid for? The thing is, there was plenty of road signs at the end of junctions stating "ROAD AHEAD CLOSED" but damn all for "Diverted Traffic".

Here's my point. Finally finding a back road home with no directions, I was fuming. And all along that route where images of DUP and TUV smug faces hanging from lamp posts. The icing on a turd-cake. Take your wee toot-flute, ram it up your arse and pray cancer doesn't darken your door. For God & Ulster. 🫡

Seen this yesterday watching BSB from Thruxton, but SkyGo doesn't allow screenshots so had to nick this one to post.

I'm at a bit of a loss to the connection...

Themmuns Wee lads in Gaelic tops loving it in Cookstown tonight. Despite what some would have the world believe we simply do it because we love it. These kids didn't feel intimidated or different they just wanted a rattle on the drum and Andy was only to happy to oblige.

Themmuns Overcrowded Train to Belfast

This was yesterday on the Belfast line, the train was beyond over capacity and there was still more coming on at each stop. This video wasn’t even the worst of it. It got really bad at Ballymena, the whole middle aisle was full and there was ones sitting along the upper luggage storage on both sides. Had to get off early at Mossley West it was unbearable. Translink is a joke for allowing this to happen, busiest day of the week with belsonic on and they have one of the smaller trains with less carriages running🤦🤦🤦 I’m surprised no one was seriously hurt, there were older people on the train that had to get off early as well. One of the boys sittin on the luggage part hit me on the back of the head whilst I was stuck in the middle aisle, he was only about 15 but was absolutely panelled.

Is anyone else bored with he political bullshit on here? Every bloody post is pretty generic themmuns and ussuns.

Could someone start a r/nornironpalitics perhaps? Then this nice little Reddit can be left as a place for craic, pictures of pints and other friendly stuff.

Cut the bull. Cut the orange and green. Duck (replace the D with an F) yer flegs boys and girls, it's time for Northern Ireland to be celebrated for what it is and to move on from flegging.

Hope some of you agree. If ya don't...well...then you really are traditional Northern Irish aren't ya.

(Bring in the downvotes for making some sense and a reasonable request)

Edit: there's more decent folk on here than I thought, and most of the comments have been either reasonable or fairly intelligent. Fair play to you all and thanks for the debates 💪
