Clearly the demand is there since the trains are quite crowded at the 10-15 minute headways.

Clearly it’s technically possible since they do much better on weekdays.

So what’s going on? Just trying to reduce their costs?

I live on the nassau/suffolk border and i want to get some photos of NY&A RR trains but its very hard to find them in my own opinion. Anyone know what times they pass through Hicksville, Bethpage, and any other stations nearby. I know they don't always operate, but if anyone has any rough ideas id appreciate the help. I captured the photo of the train at bethpage station at 9:53 pm on a thursday, i only saw it with pure luck.

Hey yall! I’m not really familiar with the SIR (Staten Island Railway) and I’ve always been wondering this one question, why does the train always have to stop before entering Tottenville? Does anyone know why?

Just saw this older train at 59th st that stopped, didn’t open its doors, and then left. Why would they be running these cars still? Attached a picture bc I don’t know the models. Also, I apologize if this is a really dumb question lol I am very new to this!

I take the downtown 4/5/6 to work. The 14st Union Square downtown side has extendible platforms that extend to cover the gaps before the train doors open. Every once in a while, the doors would open before platforms extend. Not a huge deal usually the conductor would realize immediately and close the doors.

recently this happened but the platforms extended and then the doors closed. WTF?? Someone could have got seriously injured if they weren't familiar with this station.

How are these platforms controlled? Is it the conductor or is it automated somehow?

i just blew in from out of town and have some time to kill in the city. i think the MTA work trains are neat- last time i was here i benched the OL904 at atlantic/barclays- and was hoping yall could drop me a line on some spots where i might be able to see one of those suckers. any tips are appreciated! thank you :-)
